  1. Hi I have stopped going on here as gutted after our experience,! We were in the same boat and sadly for us before we could get it sorted my husband lost points for reaching 40 and we couldnt get the points in time to attain the 60 points and lost our money,! Not sure how it is even legal. They will make you wait I think and then re apply but hopefully you will get yours sorted. Sadly for us the only way we can get there is by employer sponsor which if anyone has tried it is a bit like gold dust!!!! Not being negative but we really thought when we put our app in we were on our way and lost money and hopes with it. Keep applying for jobs but there is only so long you can put your lives on hold. All the agencies seem to promise the world and only deliver if you can get a skilled visa. We went to a seminar and was promised by a few agencies and companues for jobs they would contact us anc never did even though allegedly they had vacancies. I am ranting now but good luck and keep with it and your dream will come true.
  2. Be careful as we have recently had to withdraw our application on the same code going through ACS and having a successful skills assessment 263111 plus English tests etc We thought we had more points than we have you can only claim experience/or qualifications not both as we found out when we were informed we had less points than we had received on our EOI. Also don't forget they only count the lowest band of the English tests. I am not being negative but we have just wasted so much time and £2500 only to be absolutely gutted to find ourselves in this situation. Also to respond to person who has agent advising them not to apply I feel they are dealing with the many visa issues daily and are very aware that the system is flawed and you will not get your money back if you are declined or advised to withdraw. I hope this helps some people there is no easy answer when it isn't what you want to hear.
  3. I know exactly how you feel. We are in a similar situation although as my husband is 40 next month we cannot have time to gain more points so we now need an employer sponsor. We initially went to a seminar and spoke to an agent who informed us how to gain our points and used the RPL route. We didn't use the agent as the RPL is all your work anyway. We have been misled and would warn others to be very careful when submitting your EOI as if you make a mistake it will cost you dearly. I did speak to a good contact when I was looking for a solution and would recommend him Mick at Destinationoz. Just now writing the letter of withdrawal and begging to get some of our fee back!!
  4. Many congratulations you must be thrilled. Can you let me know how you got the job etc I tried for months and then went down the path of getting skills assessed etc but after alot of grief, stress and money we find we don't have enough point and cant get a skilled visa so we are back into the sponsored situation. Its now will be our only chance as its in my hubbys name and he will be 40 in January and we cant make the points in time. He is in IT so will be seriously back after Christmas. Good luck to you will very interested to see how long it takes for you to get over there. Well done.
  5. HI today we have also received our CO and been advised we have a points discrepancy. Something to do with the diploma not been recognised in Australia so our points are incorrect. I have replied apologising and asking how many we do have and what our options are? We dont set the points they are calculated automatically so obviously not done on purpose!! We are just hoping there are options for us to continue. I hope you get a positive response and I have contacted an agent who will call me back today hopefully. We didn't use one initially as we did the RPL route and was told it had to our won work as all based your own experience anyway so proceeded alone. We can't believe after all the hard work and the english test etc we may lose everything never mind the money for the app. More than anything its the future we had soo longed for. Really feel and know what your going through. Keep me posted and good luck.
  6. Oh My God, devastated at the moment. Just got an email from the case officer stating that the diploma we submitted is not equivalent to an Aussie qualification and there then is a incorrect number of points which is not good obviously.I have sent an email back explaining that it wasn't our intention to deceive anyone and now await their guidance. Does anyone have any advice.:dull:
  7. Applied 22nd November. Would like to think we could get a case officer this week.
  8. Hi there Yes thanks for that, I start doubting myself. Our visa is in my husbands name but I deal with as I have more time to sort things out. We have applied for 189 so your information is very helpful thanks again. While waiting we have started to de-clutter as plenty to do. Will update when we are assigned a case officer.
  9. Hi submitted EOI 30.10.12 invitation to apply through 3.11.12. We were very shocked. We now have an acknowledgement letter not sure if that means we have been assigned a case officer or not?? Some confusion on here as too when to start medical. I am under the impression the case officer will let us know. Not sure when you know your points and info are all ok either just have to wait and see.
