Great news. Paper work submitted for our Visa last Wednesday and in just over a week it has been granted. Perth here we come.

I am hoping to go early May beginning of June. Just put in all paperwork for visa. Got a jib as a senior social worker. Be great to meet up with all us newbies! Lol

I am going on a 457 visa and social work is on the skilled migration list

Hi I am really chuffed. Although being a young 46 year old i assumed I was too old for certain visas. I just applied on WA health for jobs that looked good etc. I had to get all my social work qualifications assessed and now it has all worked out. I am going on a 457 visa and then hopefully get sponsored for a PR. It is worth all the effort in the end. x

Have finally done it....I have been offered a senior social work post in Perth and being sponsored....So excited, great Christmas Present and a great way to start the new year! Now to get the house sorted, dogs checked and hopefully there will be no probs with the Visa. Happy Christmas. Barry. x

Well still have not heard, it will be 4 weeks next week. I have decided to wait another week as i did have to chase a reference up. Very tempted to email but I don't want to come across as desperate or to eager. Any advice? Barry

HI, another update and wondered if anyone can throw any light etc. I am still waiting to hear if I have been successful for the social work position after 17 days after the interview. They did contact me last week to say that one of the identified referee has not returned their reference, this is after 8 days of him sitting on it! I heard this Tuesday that they have received the reference. The panel know that I am seeking a sponsorship so wondering if this is an area that takes time etc? I remaining positive but just wondered if anyone else has expereinced the same. Cheers

Aplogies if this appears twice, but my computer is playing up! After having what I thought was a bad interview for a social work position in Perth last Tuesday, they have requested references! Still going to keep my feet on the floor until I hear, but it looks promising so far. Barry
