  1. You can apply for pr anytime. .you need to look on immi website. .look at your options
  2. There is a template on their website. .do you not feel thats enough?
  3. Keep trying..your nearly there with your marks..I think some of it is just luck on the day..and the markers. .u r used to the format now too which you might feel isnt helping but it will have..if you need all 8s and another visa isnt an option then grit your teeth n try again..its a pain but im sure you will get there..n keep practicing the listening and reading. ..and visualise how you will feel when you do get all 8s..its a fantastic feeling that I too thought i would never get
  4. Im on 457..got a medicare card for free and I dont pay to see the gp..im frm the uk
  5. Nothing to stop u applying while u are in aus..I done something similar
  6. Give your head a wobble your career isnt over. .you'll not keep any job long if you give up every time u make a mistake! Its not an ideal situation but its not the end of your career unless you want it to be. Have a few days feelin crap n then you need to look at this whole thing from a less negative angle. .its an experience you will grow and learn from in many ways and no one was harmed...you were brave to come to a new country to work..you need to use that bravery again to move forward use the reference or dont use the reference, either way..apply for other jobs
  7. Get in trouble for what? Walking away? They will just keep the bond
  8. Another good thing is you will never make that mistake again..you can let future employers know that...that it has made you more cautious than normal and you see it as a positive experience in making you a better nurse..admit mistake to future employers..shows development and responsibility but I wouldn't use last job as a reference
  9. I cant believe this has happened to you!! I made a medication error during probation period..we are human. .human error is all it was. .like you I followed all procedures after...I was told not to worry abt it and we discussed what was happening at the time and how as a team we could minimise chance of it happening again..I wasnt blamed or disciplined..im really shocked at your story! What abt 'no blame culture'. Since my error I have supported others through the dreaded medication error..it happens and the team and manager should support you. But you were on probation so they can end contract if they like...I think...but I dnt think it was due to medication error..they didnt want you there for some other reason. They are in the wrong not u...imo..they shouldnt b focusing on this error as reason to sack you. On the plus side..I was in aus on a 457 and didnt like my job so started applying for others..I got 3 offers of jobs wanting to take over my sponsorship and within a few weeks I was working and sponsored somewhere else. If the medication error is on the reference thats a bit weird and unnecessary..but doesnt mean no one else will employ you..your not a machine..your going to make mistakes. .and looks like you had alot of pressure on you at the time..they need to look at why that is...'root cause analysis'. Apply for other jobs and explain u need them to take over sponsorship..if you get somewhere else u can think abt pr then when everything has calmed...dont be put off nursing or aus due to this...you were treated very unfairly..dont beat yourself up...I hope it works out for you whatever you choose to do...good luck
  10. Im a mental health nurse and 457 been great for us...I think for nurses 457s can wrk really well espicially if you get a job wth the government/dept of health..I'd say it is more of a risk for other professions..I was with nsw health who originally sponsored me..I didnt like that job and easily got qld health to take over sponsorship (also had ramsay health offer) and thats where i am now..we are applying for pr now just so we have more options of studying or buying a house. Ive not seen many nurses complain abt 457 so if u knw all abt the visa and are happy with conditions like we are then dnt let ther ppls experience put u off...we are all in individual cirumstances
  11. We have bought and registered a car in nsw and qld...cant say any is easier..both abt the same ...but if you are looking for a second hand car sydney is the best place. .loads of choice and cheaper than other places we hav been...good luck
  12. They say u need to apply once your in aus and u need to have an au adress for them to send tfn too. .its very simple and quick to apply on line..comes through quick too..I got mine in about 5 days..my husband got his couple of days later. You have time before your first wage comes in to get it all sorted

I think if your general nursing you need three months work experience to get positive assesment but mental health u dnt need any..that's what they told me anyway..I have experience but didnt need points for it so saved me messing about with references

I got anmac positive assesment with no experience..I just had to provide academic transcript for my three years studying mental health nursing in the uk
