Hi Lisa, We were in the same boat as you. Hubby turning 45 so we needed 8 in each band to get us the points needed for 190. He sat the Ielts 9 time and always missed by .5 in only one band each time, he scored 8.5 overall but thats not good enough it needs to be in each band, it was very demoralising for him. In the end we went for the 489 which we received last month. Just grateful to have the option. Go for the visa that best suits you and puts less pressure on you All the best

We applied for a 489 SS Visa Thats exactly what we thought until others in the 190 visa categories started emailing their CO'S and then receiving grants within a few days. Some had even lodged after us. After 3 sleepless nights I finally sent an email.

HiEmail your CO we did and we received our grant the next day. We lodged 14 March received CO May.....then delay email....I emailed our CO on the 15 July and received our grant email the 16th July.Give it a try....our CO sent us and our agent the grant email. He went the extra mile.Good luck

Congratulations The Boardmans it is so surreal...... I agree we emailed our CO on Tuesday and the next morning we had our grant.... Lodged 489 visa 14/03/14, CO 09/05/14........Visa Granted 16/07/14

We received our Visa GRANTED email at 03:00....:jiggy: Thought they'd forgotten us 489'ers We lodged our 489 SS QLD on the 14th March and received our CO 9th May.

Hi you could go for regional sponsorship, 489 visa which gives you 10 points instead of 5.... thats what we have done as we are over 40 so lost points there.

Hi Christina, We are in South Africa and we lodged a 489 SS visa for Queensland. We lodged 14 March and received a CO 8 weeks later 9 May. Friends of ours lodged their 489 on the 31st May and have not received a CO. Their are also at least 2 other couples who lodged 190 visas around March and also no CO. Our agents forwarded an email from DIBP stating a slow down in issuing of visas as they are nearing their targets for the year. Apparently everything speeds up in July. I am sure you will receive your CO in July when the new year starts. All the best and let us know when you get your CO. T

Hi, We are in South Africa which is a high risk country. The team would need to a valid reason for refusing a visa. I am sure everything will be fine, as I've said we have had this team from May and they have not requested anything out of the norm. Our agent emailed through all required documents there and then and there has been no further correspondence. Agents are confident that in July things will move quickly. I'm pretty sure its just a matter of time. Patience is key to this process. Also don't search to much or you will start over analysing everything. Hang in there

Hi Enida, We also have AF from team 23. Received CO 09/05. We lodged QLD SS 489 visa. Received email 16/05 stating slow processing of visas due to targets almost been met for the year and that we may have to wait for the new year to start in July. No other correspondence since then. Wish they'd hurry up the wait is killing us. Hope we all get our visas soon. Let me know if you hear any news. Cheers T
