  1. Thanks. I know that DIAC would accept my Academic IELTS, but would it accept my General IELTS (having all written concerns in mind)?
  2. It is CPA Australia. How can I email DIAC? I cannot find their email address for this matter.
  3. Thanks a lot. The thing that bothers me is that it says: "You need to take only the general test unless otherwise advised by your skills assessing authority". I was actually advised by my assessing authority to take academic test. Now, I am unsure whether DIAC would accept my new general test.
  4. Thanks for the quick answer. Is there a web page where I can check this and be 100% sure?
  5. Hi guys, I have one question. My situation is this. I passed Academic IELTS test and I got marks above 7 in all four components which was enough and required for positive Skills assessment. With this score, I can claim 10 points, e.g. for visa subclass 189. Now, am I allowed to take General IELTS test, and, am I allowed to claim 20 points on English language requirement if I get at least 8 in all four test components . This way I would have 65 points instead of 55. (I believe it is easier to score 8 on general than on academic...) This is what IMMI says: "There are two IELTS tests—an academic test and a general training test. You need to take only the general test unless otherwise advised by your skills assessing authority. " http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/visas/subclass-189/ Thank you very much for clarifying this for me.
  6. See this: [h=3]What you need to do before submitting your EOI[/h] While you don’t need to submit documents supporting your claims when you submit your EOI, you must have a range of information prepared. For example, for an independent skilled visa you must have: completed a skills assessment and/or a job ready program taken an English-language test to prove you meet the English language requirement. For details on what information you need to provide on your EOI, you should refer to the webpages for the visa(s) you are expressing interest in. http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/
  7. Thanks for the reply. I think I'll have to take IELTS test again. Regarding eligible sponsors, is there an official family tree (chart) DIAC uses in assessing applications? (I know it may sound silly, but I need a strong proof that my sponsors are not eligible.) Thank you very much for the answer.
  8. I get 30 points for age, 15 for bachelor degree and 10 points for IELTS. That's 55 points. That's all I can claim for sure. I have skilled work experience of two year (which is less than three - 5 points). I have no other foundations to claim points on. Maybe visa subclass 190 - with Nomination by state or territory government - i could get 5 points. Furthermore, I am aware that in this case I would have 60 points, but I am unsure whether it is enough for Invitation. How does "Nomination" work? (Does this go this way? Submit EOI, get nomination, get invitation, visa application). Should I now focus on subclass 190 having "sponsor issues" in mind? Are there any other visa options?
  9. Thank you for the answer. I also believe that he is my first cousin, once removed. On the other hand, they only state that the eligible sponsor is "first cousin". He is my first cousin, once removed. I mean, I am aware that the chances for his eligibility are slim, but still that terminology bothers me (being my first cousin once removed could fall under category "first cousin")... But could then my grandmother's brother be my sponsor?
  10. Hi guys, I am new at this forum. I hope you might answer my question. I am at the latest stage of submitting EOI for visa subclass 489, but I have one big doubt and it is regarding my eligible sponsor. Having all other issues resolved, I would like to ask people on this forum one question. I have a cousin in Australia - and he is - son of my grandmother's (my mother's mom) brother. (his grandparents are my great-grandparents) Having all other criteria fulfilled - Could he be my eligible sponsor (how are we related)? You or your partner must be related to your sponsor as: a child – including a stepchild, or a parent – including a step-parent, or a brother or sister – including adoptive or step-sibling, or a niece or nephew – including adoptive or step-niece or nephew, or an aunt or uncle – including adoptive or step-aunt or uncle, or a grandparent or first cousin. http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/visas/subclass-489/ Thank you for your time answering my question.
