  1. It may be different for each case, fingers crossed for you. I did keep sending emails though saying how worried I was as we had spent a lot of money and didn't even know if they had received our info. They obviously had but I just wanted written confirmation from an actual person not a computer generated response system! It won't be long at all, then the panic begins .... ;0) xx
  2. I called and said that we had uploaded the info requested and was worried that if it wasn't enough evidence for them that I would run out of the 28 day period allowed to upload, she said it wouldn't even be looked at before the 28 days and if it wasn't enough they would request something else and would have another 28 days to provide. Could be different for everyone, they are apparently snowed under with applications but I am quite sure they will get to you very soon. Turns out what I provided was enough anyway and got the grant. We got asked for info on 27/08/15 and got the grant on 09/10/15. Hope this helps xx
  3. Thankyou. It is isn't it. You will hear soon, I was told by Immi that any requested info doesn't even get looked at for 28 days which helped knowing that as it stopped me checking every morning!! Good luck. X
  4. Finally got our grant this morning!! Lodged 30th June. Good luck to those still waiting. X
  5. I'm still waiting :embarrassed: had co contact on 27th August, replied same day and still heard nothing at all.
  6. I lodged 30th June, had email from CO last thurs requesting permission from my sons father. He hasn't seen him in over 14 years so have explained this and also stated he has no parental responsibility by law, so I'm hoping that's enough. Waiting to hear back hopefully this week, if I don't I'll be calling to speak to someone. I also had a DD offence from 15 years ago :embarrassed: and came up on police check as no live trace, was clearly no problem as CO didn't mention anything about it.
  7. Yay, email from case officer this morning requesting one piece of information. Hopefully not long now. :cute:
  8. Thankyou, is prep the same as English reception class? If so then you are right it will be 2016!! Oh no was hoping to have her all to myself for a year.
  9. I agreed with everything bungo said, we are under no illusions that migrating is very expensive and that we will be taking a step back career wise and financially for a period of time, otherwise I wouldn't be selling my hair and beauty salon and my other half wouldn't be giving up his building business. we aren't going to australia to be better off financially we are both at a stage where we feel we would like an adventure and a chance to show our kids a different way of life. I just needed a little advice on what people thought about taking kids out of school and perhaps staying a few more months longer which would give us a very healthy addition to the pot of money we would come over with, but would perhaps affect the kids schooling.
  10. Thankyou ou this puts my mind at rest somewhat. I've tried to tell my son that he will be finding everything a bit easier to start with as he's already done a yr 10 here. I think he just wants to get to australia now he will go into any year! :cute:
  11. Going to queensland. Been looking and yes I think he will have to do year 10 onwards. My daughter is 5 next week so I don't think she starts school until jan 2017?! Does that sound right?
  12. Good points thankyou, especially taking dogs too.
  13. I absolutely agree with what you say and if I'm honest that's what I would prefer deep down. Just the temptation of going with a little extra money is clouding it at the moment, although the leap has to be taken at some point like you say. I feel it's a battle of head over heart. Thankyou for your honesty and advice. :0)
  14. Thankyou, we are heading to queensland, I have a feeling it will be year 10 then - bet that's going to go down well with him :wideeyed:.
  15. I feel exactly the same!! Good luck to you too, I'm sure everything will work out just as it's supposed to. :0)
  16. We have discussed that, and like you say there will always be a reason to stay longer. Our thinking was the job he could do he will be earning probably the most he could earn on this sort of job, the person he's doing it for is quite an opportunity in itself, our local celeb  he's worked for her for 2.5 years but she desperately wants him to do this job before we go. But if we go October he will have to start at bottom of the pile again working for someone else, so financially I think wld be worth staying. God it's seriously driving me nuts at the moment. Bigger picture I'm being silly and I have to stop myself and think there are people who don't even get the opportunity to get to oz so I do feel very very lucky to be in the position I'm in but it's the limbo thing I think!! God i do go on don't i!!? :embarrassed:
  17. Sorry id id posted before seeing other comments. :0) Thankyou, , my son wants to go in October! As do I really but I think financially we would be silly to turn down other halves work, so just getting head around going January. He was 15 in July, so not sure if he would go straight into yr 11? I havent even even registered my little girl in a school anywhere so she hasn't even got one to go to yet, as we were aiming for October .
  18. Thankyou both, I didn't know if was going to be beneficial or not him even doing them. Will he go into year 11 in feb do you know? Or will he have to redo year 10? If we go in January I also feel bad sending him back to school in sept to start his gcse's and then take him out at Christmas. Would you send back for the 3 months?? Would I even be allowed to keep him off? Sorry all the questions!
  19. :err: Hello, just after a bit of advice really. We are waiting for our visas - lodged June. We are a family of four kids aged 15 and 5. Our initial plan was to move in October, as that's when I can get out of my lease for my business premises and also it would mean my daughter wouldn't have to start school in sept. We now have opportunity for my other half who's a builder to do a really good job offer which would mean staying until after Christmas, which is fine I'd got my head around as oz school year doesn't start until feb but, now I'm thinking my son would be doing his gcse's if he starts back until June so would I be cruel in taking him in jan when I should really be waiting until June to finish them? I know it's only 6 months longer but I don't know if I will still have my marbles if I stay until June!!!! Also I worry the older he gets he's not going to want to go say if he gets a girlfriend etc. Also my 5 year old will have started school, made friends and I'll have to take her away from them. I will have sold my business up too so I won't be working. Sorry if I've gone on a bit, anyone had anything similar or can offer any advice or please just tell me what to do!! Feels like EVERYTHING is in limbo and sending me nuts. Just want to do what's best for the kids. Thankyou formreading
  20. Such a a relief to see that you were uploading days before too!! I did my form 80 last week and keep adding bits when I think of them. Didn't know if it would look bad or not yes definitely, I've thought god should of we got an agent, it's my other halves skill we are going on but I'm the one doing all the paperwork and feel completely responsible if I get anything wrong. good luck with the move :0)
  21. Congratulations!!! Fab news! When are you hoping to go out? We aren't using a migration agent either and had started to feel a bit nervous that we may have missed something or done it wrong. X
  22. Congratulations!!good luck with your new adventure x
  23. Congratulations!!!! That's super quick, good luck with your new adventure.
  24. Right I have uploaded everything I can think of to visa, just have to do the form 80 for both of us. Have been relatively relaxed about the whole process but now suddenly feeling panicked incase I miss anything!!! This is the downside to not using an agent. :frown:
  25. Hi we had our medicals last week. I had to do a urine sample - door closed, blood test, blood pressure, eye test, stripped off to my underwear but had a gown on, male doctor but got asked if I wanted someone else present. He just listened to my chest and had a prod of my stomach, reflex test plus twisted my legs about. Chest x ray. Height and also the most scariest part of all by far was weight being taken! My daughter who was 4, I had to tick boxes on a form to check off milestones and her capabilities for her age, she also got weighed and height taken and also her head circumference, her chest listened to and that was it for her. My son who was 14 had to have all that I had apart from blood test.
