  1. Hi I wonder where you get the information on which occupation ceilings have been reached and so soon? I thought they had only just started the new system and were sending out a smaller number of invites initially? We haven't even done an EOI yet as we are waiting for skills assessment to be done but were hoping to apply under the 2631 ICT code for a 189 visa with 70 points, any hope you think?? we could try for SS from VIC for 75 but family and jobs are in NSW so now really unsure!
  2. I really feel for you bennyboy. We are just in the process of thinking of applying. And foolishly thought it was easy to tag parents along but hadn't read the price tag attached! As an only child and with 2 little ones we have gone from all being excited about the bright new oz future for our boys if lucky enough to get a visa and how great it would be to all share the adventure, to the harsh reality that if that is to be the case it will mean they dont't get to share it with their grandparents. It's so very difficult. I wish you and all your family well xo
  3. Gogs and cath - small world indeed! Nice to know there will be plenty of friendly voices/faces on arrival but without the lovely Scottish weather! All the best and keep us posted on your progress
  4. lol the freer's!!! good luck to you both msjulz am sending a pm hope that's ok, cheers
  5. what a small world msjulz! hubby was working for RBS through Fujitsu, he's an IT consultant. Definitely would love to catch up when (positive thinking!) we get there! fb sites look great I will check them out and thanks for the very kind offer of advice, it is all quite daunting esp with little ones to think of. We are just waiting to get DH's skills assessment done and then put ourselves on the list, not sure whether to go for NSW state sponsored 190 or go it alone with a 189. Unfortunately because DH's brother is Sydney they can't offer us sponsorship. Hope you continue having a great time, take care
  6. Hi MsJulz, what a great thread, thanks. We are in Ayrshire, husband just finished 18 month contract at the Gyle in Edinburgh and we are hoping to get out to Oz in the near future. Brother and Sis in law moved form Edinburgh 5 years ago and haven't looked back. We are thinking of Collaroy, Cromer and few other Northern beaches areas, great to hear that you have got there and settled in so quickly, sounds fabulous. We have a 7 and 2 year old. Helps dispel some of the should we/shouldn't we that goes continually round my head when you hear such success stories. Well done.
