  1. Has anyone else encountered this problem. I was granted 143 visa in April 2013 and have been living in Brisbane for 2 years. Immi sent an email letting me know the visa had been approved but I have never had a Notification of Grant with all my details on it including the visa grant number. I had to phone Immigration in London to find out my visa grant number at the time. Now I need to produce this notification and though I've emailed the case officer who dealt I've not had any response. How can I get this notification - any ideas ?
  2. Hi there, Having very recently gone through the process of applying for parent visas I would say if you can afford it definitely apply for the permanent 143 straightaway. I applied for 173 first and the completion of the second application for 143 was tortuous - all those forms again. Luckily since I had applied soon after being granted 173, my medical was still within the year and didn't have to be repeated. Would not have done it that way if I had known how stressful it would be......... All well now though, packers coming tomorrow, flight booked for Sept 5th ! Good luck to everyone in the process, Grammie
  3. I am just getting quotes for shipping now, it sounds as if you had a bad experience and I'd certainly like to avoid that. Please could you pm me the name of the company.
  4. Hi everyone This is probably a silly question but how do you know if you've been allocated a CO ? I have had an email from PVC asking me to let them know when the AOS is completed and it's from a named person with a position number. Do I assume that's my CO and reply to her or do I just email the general PVC address? Someone who's been through this before can probably help. Please ! I'm getting to the end of the process and afraid to put a foot wrong now ! Thanks, Grammie
  5. See my post on previous page, this is the reply from Parent Visa centre "A search in our systems found no registered Parent Visa Application that matches the details of the listed person(s) in your email. Please note, the Parent Visa Application may have already been delivered to our Department, however, not yet to our section (Parent Visa Centre). Even more, if your application has already been delivered to our section, the fact the our electronic system does not show any record matching the details of your parents indicates that your application has not yet reached the registration stage. Due to a high volume of applications received, please allow six more working weeks for your application to be registered. If you have not received a letter of acknowledgement from us after this time, we advise you to contact us again." There must surely be a system for logging in applications in date order.I am really worried about my application getting lost in their system now. Sorry this is not very encouraging. Grammie
  6. Sent off CPV 173>143 application and documents to Perth at the end of December, AusPost say it arrived on Jan 9th but I've had no acknowlegement. Emailed them today and they say no trace of the application although it could be waiting somewhere to be registered. They suggested waiting another 6 weeks before enquiring again. Has anyone else has this sort of problem and should I have expected to hear from them by now ? Very anxious because as everyone will know the form filling etc. is tortuous. Grammie
  7. Hi Summerdaisy I had a CO a year and one week from application, then was quite quickly asked for final VAC, about 5 weeks afterwards I think. You might look at http://www.chireckles.com/cpv/tracker.php which tracks application time lines.
  8. Hi, I have a biventricular pacemaker and I have recently been granted 173 visa. Can't say how they'll view an ICD but think it will probably depend on how well your dad is generally i.e. has he needed hospital admissions etc. Hope they will look at it positively. I'm just about to apply for CPV 143 so I have to be optimistic too. Good luck Grammie
  9. Thanks - that gives me hope ! I'll warn my son about Centrelink being slow.
