Hi, I applied for a PMV 300 in March 2018 and was granted it in January 2019. In January 2019 my fiance arrive in Australia on her PMV 300 (She had to leave the country for it to be granted as she was here for 4 months on a travel visa). My fiance and I are now married as of last month and I want to progress the next stage. My questions are :- 1. Do I just include information from the date of PMV grant 4 months ago in the application. i.e. exclude all the relationship history, photos, chats etc from the PMV. I'm a little unsure how much info they want here, war and peace or just the last 4 months which will be, recent photos, meeting family, wedding, name on house/banks/joint bills. Next question 2. We are about to go on holiday in 2 months time, the PMV was granted in January 2019 so is valid for 9 months. If I apply for the 820 now and submit, does the PMV 300 stay in effect until it runs out. I'm concerned I go on an 820 wait list and get a Bridging Visa A, with no travel rights then have to mess around getting a Bridging Visa B to travel. In which case I'll just wait until a couple of months so submit my 820. Any help appreciated. :) Many thanks

Hi, hoping someone can help ease my anxiety on this :- I applied and was granted a 189 Skilled visa on 29/01/2013 and have been living in Australia since. My now Ex-Wife was included in this application with me and is listed as a secondary applicant at the time of application/grant. We divorced in Australia last year. I have since met a new partner and am engaged to married, I wish to sponsor her under Prospective Marriage Visa. My confusion is around this question :- Has this sponsor previously sponsored/nominated a spouse, de facto, prospective spouse or interdependent partner? Under the 189 where my Ex-Wife was listed as a secondary applicant, did I technically sponsor her and should answer "Yes" to the question. Booklet 1127 defines "nominated" as a term previously referred to instead of sponsorship in 2002. If I answer "Yes" to the above question because it's applicable, then am I correct in proceeding anyway because it has been >5 years since the application/grant with my Ex-Wife. I don't want to proceed and spend $7k to be refused. Any help or advice appreciated.

Did you double check the letter ? Are you reading it properly as mine looked like this. Does yours say "Nil" for both ?

Yes, you were taxed April - January on a pro rata basis. I got just short of £5k, worth doing. P85 is the form I think.

Yeah its been weak up north, just started picking up as we were leaving but couldn't afford to just pay the mortgage and leave it sat there over winter. Think I'll just get an accountant to sort it especially when we come to sell. I don't think we'll be liable in terms of CGT as we don't plan on buying here in Oz till the uk property sells. We also won't make any substantial gain on the property as we bought this house when prices were high so we'd break even (possibly make £20k from the 10-15k of renovations). That's great...thank you so much for your help. I've completed the NRL1 form, I have had to fill one in for myself and my wife (house is in joint names). I've split the gross income between myself and my wife since its essentially 50/50 split on the land registry. I actually read that you can only claim the interest part of the mortgage as tax deductable, I'm guessing that if the total profit is less than your annual allowable in the UK it just doesn't get taxed, then if you make any profit at the end of it you declare it as part of your australian tax return. I know I should really sort an accountant, but my affairs aren't overly complicated.

Hmm, I'm a bit confused. I left the UK and had a property empty and for sale. I completed a P85 and got a rebate on my tax as I left UK in October. Now after the house being on the market and the uk housing market being poor, we have changed our mind and decided to rent. Is an NRL form appropriate because at the moment we are getting taxed at 25% on the rental income, the house is under joint name with my wife who was a stay at home mum and never used her personal allowance. The rent we receive basically covers the mortgage and about £1000 annual profit which will be used to refurbish/maintain the uk property. Do I need to do some form of self assessment ? Any help appreciated. If I'd know I was going to rent I would have put it on my P85 but alas, things change.

Well done for trying. I've been in Oz 2 months now, I was under no illusions or preconceptions. I work hard, like I did in England, I check my finances like I did in England. Things are different, which I expected. I think part of it is that people have high expectations, my kids still goto school, we still argue..lol, xmas is weird, but hey, at least we've tried. Better to try and not like it than never try and wonder. All the best for the future.

You could retake your ielts 5 times in the time it would take to get a cdr application approved. I would do some more study and hit the ielts, you were only 0.5 point off and it costs lots more for cdr application too. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

I have just done it and it wasnt that bad. Had no joy with seek though. Make sure you have a quality aussie style resume. State clearly your visa type etc Give a timeframe for when you can commence employment. I got the above advice from here off Freckleface. I lined up an interview during my reccie and got the job, they are even paying for relocation so really happy. So it is achievable. There was no way I was turning up jobless when I had a good career/pension in uk. Just make sure you put accross you are ready to start... Employing people from abroad who may be just dipping their toe in the water and cant start for 6 months doesnt cut the mustard. If people are advertising its cos they want to fill the vacancy now. 10 working days for standard, 2 for premium. Depends how quick you need it really. If your case officer has asked you for it and you have left it a bit late then maybe worth going for. As soon as I got asked for it I sent off for standard service and got it within about 7 days, so was well within the time frame.

I have just come back from a reccie and spent a fair bit of time round central coast. Lots of lovely places around lake macquarie..warners bay , speers point eleebana. Pretty much everywhere from newcastle down to the entrance on the coast is nice too. Pelican, Caves beach , Woy Woy. We fell in love with Newcastle...Merewether, Hamilton etc..it had a lovely feel..friendly town. It was a breath of fresh air after being around Brisbane and driving down...we were so fed up with the "westfield effect".. I.e. a freeway then a pull off to (red roosters, mcdonalds, coles)..awful for us..no town or community feel for us in them places. Newcastle seems just a perfect fit for us... Good schools, nice community feel, great beaches. We did goto Wollongong..some nice areas but the town centre seemed a bit jeremy kyle..wasnt too impressed but then walked along the coast and met some lovely people. When you did your apprenticeship did you do your ONC or HNC ? If you did, then Engineering Technologist would be something that would be appropriate.

I made a post about CDRs for Engineers Australia and had many PMs from 'guest' requesting copies. I would urge anyone to exercise caution, judgement and professionalism when responding to these requests. The governing body either ACS or EA provide guidance via booklets. Its acceptable to query your understanding of some points or format; requesting possibly weeks work that was written by someone else is just not the done thing. Either high risk or low risk applicants I don't discriminate...just noone is getting my work other than the governing body....professional protection..maybe. Your agent is incorrect or you mis-interpreted what they said. If you didn't mis-interpret what they said then check to confirm your agent is MARA regeistered. The Anzsco is purely a classification of occupations and nothing to do with SOL list. For example..dog grooming and deer farmer all have anzsco codes..but are not on the "skills in demand" SOL list.
