  1. WOW! seems like it's hard to get a +ve TRA skills assessment!!
  2. @ Levimouse I get what you are saying. I know that with SS there is a 2 year live/work requirement within that state, but then if you end up applying for 190 PR that gives you the right to live and work anywhere in Aus. Plus with applying for PR do you need to prove you have SS already? I was under the impression that you had to, if not, I assumed wrong.
  3. yep! I'm happy too that it dropped 5 points!! now bring on SOL 2 for SS!!
  4. my occupation happens to be on NSW SMP SOL so after I hope to get a positive TRA skills assessment, I'll go for NSW SS, and then the 190 visa. yes yes i know I have to be invited to apply FIRST.
  5. so in order to apply for a 489 visa (Provisional visa for skilled workers who are nominated by a state/territory government or an eligible relative(i.e. my brother)), my occupation must be on this new updated family sponsored SOL?
  6. found info on booklet 5 page 13 Other dependants You may include other relatives in your application if they are wholly or substantially reliant on you for financial support for their basic needs of food, shelter and clothing and they have been reliant on you for that support for a substantial period. They must also be more reliant on you for support than on any other person or source. A relative may also be considered dependent on you if they are reliant on you for financial support because they have a mental or physical disability which stops them from earning a living to support themselves. Other relatives dependent on you or your partner may include, for example, an aged, unmarried relative. If you have dependants who are 18 years of age or over, please obtain a form 47A Details of child or other dependent family member aged 18 years or over. A form 47A must be completed for each dependant 18 or over, whether migrating or not. nevertheless a MARA agent will know better!
  7. no need to capitalize thank you very much! no, not a dependent on his current visa right now. I think my bro will need to take his questions to a MARA agent.
  8. will he be able to add me as his sister to his PR application?? and must i be the only last remaining relative - which I'm not.
  9. thanks! and what priority group will he be placed under? and what is the current processing times for employer sponsored PR applications? so if he gets his skills assessment done now and he gets a positive hypothetically speaking 6 weeks time, what impact will it make to his PR application?
  10. He just got promoted at his workplace, he has only been working on the 457 visa since last november - previous to that he was working on a WHV. His employer now wants to apply for his PR now before July 1st changes. Questions:- What will he have to do now? Will he still need to get his skills assessed? His promoted title - must this be on SOL 1??? I am posting on behalf of him as he doesn't have the time to join forums, so i said i will ask on behalf of him.
  11. mmm VIC has an updated state SOL here http://www.liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au/visas-and-immigrating/occupation-lists last updated June 6 2012
  12. TRA assessed ICT Customer Support officer occuaption NOT ACS see here: http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/i/ict-customer-support-officer.htm

  14. from what the DIAC rep told my bro when he attended the migration expo in Melbourne was that there will only be one list. Bring on July 1st already!!
  15. I have a slight feeling there will be SERVER ISSUES with the amount of EOI's being lodged! ugh I hope DIAC are prepared for this! I have set my alarm (on my phone) for 12AM Australian time July 1st!
  16. Waiting in anticipation for the new consolidated SOL list!!! I wish it were July 1st already!!!!
  17. here in the U.S we can go thru UPS to nortarize the document but it costs $6 PER document to nortarized. I got my University degree, 2 page transcript and British pp bio page all nortarized by UPS for $6 per piece costing me $24! ugh
  18. hmm I would THINK that SHOULD be enough. what occupation are you filing under?
  19. Does anyone know when you submit your EOI, do you get a result right away telling you which visa DIAC are invitng you to apply? or once submitted they get back to you in 30/60/90 days?
  20. how many years or months pay slips did you provide? did you provide copies of P60 or P45's?
  21. 489 says nominate from the relevant schedule so the rules for schedule 1 and 2 are contradicting the visa requirements for visa 489!!
  22. Nomination by a state/territory government or sponsorship by an eligible relative living in a designated area. Invitation to apply. Meet points test pass mark. Nominate a skilled occupation from the relevant skilled occupation list. Hold a suitable skills assessment. Under 50 years of age. At least competent English. Other standard requirements including health and character. http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/visas/subclass-489/ Wheres does it state my brother who gets his PR this year cannot sponsor me because my occupation is on SOL2. all it says is Nominate a skilled occupation from the relevant skilled occupation list, whether its from SOL 1 or SOL 2 [h=4]Where must your sponsor live in Australia?[/h]If you are being sponsored by an eligible relative, your sponsor must be a resident in a designated area of Australia at the time of the sponsorship. My brother resides in VIC But I am confused with your statement that he cannot sponsor me because my occupation is on SOL 2. It does not say that underneath the sponsors tab.
  23. Kindly explain more and provide sources to your statement.
  24. My brother gets his PR this year - that gives me 10 points to add to my exisitng 60 points info about myself : 31 (going on 32 when he get his PR) Bacherlors in Computer Science from London, UK British Citizen 8 years IT experience in UK and USA I will have to go thru the 489 visa with family sponsorship (from my brother once he gets his PR) I meet the points - 70 points. Let me know if this makes any sense to you. First, I will be applying to TRA to get my skills assessed for occupation 313112 ICT Support Second, PRAY for that to come back successful Third, lodge EOI online Fouth, hope to be invited to apply for relevant visa - 489 oh and one more thing, is it required of me to LIVE and WORK in ACT or WA where my occupation is listed on their SMP - even thought I'm not looking to get state sponsorship My brother lives and resides in Melbourne, VIC, where I would want to be as well cause there's more ICT opportunites there.
