  2. Hi hoping someone can answer!! our nomination for ENS186 (TRT) has been lodged since August, we still havent heard whether it has been approved but we now have to lodge our visa application as our 457 ends in 7 days :wideeyed::wideeyed: So we have done the visa application on our immi account and used the TRN number for the nomination application is this correct? Will this then get matched with the nomination? Also we have all the details for the nomination (we have acknowledgement letter for application from my husbands employer)...... are we able to import this application to our immi account so we can monitor it ourselves???? If we are able to import the application are you able to see the details, or only the status of the application?? I know we cannot alter the application or speak with immigration about it, it feels like we are completely int he dark at times.... Many Thnaks please any answers wouldbe great i am havign minor panic attacks ........

  4. yes we have no choice to lodge unfortunately. My husbands employer have employed him on a 457 for three years so hoping there wont be any issues with the nomination unfortunately that is his employers department not ours
  5. no we are doing it ourselves, we already have the acknowledgement letter from the nomination (my husbands employer gave us a copy) the process itself for the visa applicaiton is really simple as we are temporary residence transition it is fairly straightforward. so we didnt see the point in a migration agent....we have just been screwed over by the ridicuously slow pace that immigration seem to be working at
  6. hi everyone those who have submitted their visa application, how long did it take for you to receive youR acknowledgement letter?? our 457 expires in two weeks, our nomination has been in since beginning of august. we didnt want to submit ourvisa applicaiton until nomination approved but we are now in the position where we must submit in orderto get the bridging visa. just wondering once you have submitted it how long it takes to get the letter as that has your bridging visa details on? or is a bridge visa automatically generated on submitting and finalising the application for a 186? im sorry for asking these questions but we are understandably quite stressed after having been told our nomination would have been approved by end of 2015. and now we are in this awful predicament whereby we have to submit at the risk of losing our hard earned money. it makes us really uneasy to lodge our applcation without nomination approval as if it gets declined we lose $6300. but we have no choice now we have waited as long as we possibly can we have done the application and it is all ready to go now

no necessarily, that is the maximum you can get them for. they can be granted for less. no idea why ours has been though as the job my husband has was permanent from the word go.

hi I posted this on the 186 timeline but its a reallt busy thread and i think my post may get lost a little,so i have repeated here i hope that is ok, please advise if not. we are currently on a 457 visa which expires 31/01/16. our nomination was submitted from my husbands employer at beginning of august, at this point we were not worried as nominations were taking 4-5 months to be approved so we would still have a couple of months to submit our visa application, alas immigration seem to be on a long term holiday at the moment we are obviously still waiting now and it is January so need to do something as we are literally running out of time on our 457. we were trying to wait until our nomination was approved to lodge our visa..... but its looking now like we will have to sumbit our visa without nomination been granted so we can obtain a bridging visa, something we didnt really want to do in case for some reason the nomination is declined and we lose all our money. We have paid for the visa process so have savedhard and really dont want to lose our money. our 457 was only granted for a three year period,( i have no idea why before i get questioned) as this has made things really really tight for us. just in case anyone wonders why we have left it so late. we had some personal circumstances that prevented us approaching my husbands employer about permanent residency earlier, until July we were uncertain whether we would need to be heading back to uk. anyway......... just a couple f questions re the TRT ens 186 application online.......almost done but a couple of things .... question 11 re skills assessment....asks if my husband has a skills assessment TRT dont need one do they?? so do we just click no on that one? those that are doing temp resident transition, is that what you did?? and do we have to fill in form 80, scan and attach as part of our application? regards qualifications, does my husband attach copies of these at end of application process? I have seen someone on the ENS timeline yesterday did a SEPTEMBER nomination and the nomination already been approved..... should my husbands employer be contacting immigration now, I was under the impression that they hadnt even looked at July yet. or is that for nominations and visa applictions submitted together?? argh sorry somany questions and feeling rather stressed out with it all. please if anyone can answer any of these questions i would be so grateful.

I will fill in the timeline spreadsheet thingy in due course. just a couple f questions re the TRT ens 186 application online.......almost done but a couple of things .... question 11 re skills assessment....asks if my husband has a skills assessment TRT dont need one do they?? so do we just click no on that one? those that are doing temp resident transition, is that what you did?? and do we have to fill in form 80, scan and attach as part of our application? regards qualifications, does my husband attach copies of these at end of application process? 10. thanks..... how do you do it through your immi account? my husband has an immi account and myself and my son are tagging onto his visa application through his account.....so we dont have our own accounts. do i need to set up an immi account for my son?
  11. Hi there My son has recently had his passport renewed and has a new passport number as a result...... do i need to call immigration to update his details? Or is there a form I need to complete for him? Many thanks
  12. hi there im having a slight panic! we are currently on a 457 visa having just completed our two years and my hubbys employer is happy to sponsor on the ENS (186) transition stream. our current visa has a very random expiry of 31 jan 2016 (which means they gave us 2 and a bit years on out visa, anyway.....) the employer is new to the whole sponsorhsip thing so are takign their time getting ready for the nomination part.......... At what point does a bridging visa get granted, is it when the nomination is lodged or when we lodge our part of the application? and can we lodge our part without the nomination being approved (i know this would not be recommended but it in desperate times) if we did this w may then be able to obtain a bridging visa? im just having a slight panic that the nomination may nt be approved beofe the visa expires, what would happen in this case does anyone know? also when the employer does the nomiation is that purely for the position and then we make our application using the ID number? or, do they need to nominate our whole family in the first instance and put all our details in the nomination? before anyone says we have left it late,we couldnt do it any earlier as we have only just hit the two year mark thank u!
  13. hi hope someine can advise me. i have been in australia now for 1.5 years on my husbands 457 visa we are currently applying for PR. i have had a career break whilst here to settle our little boy in but am now in process of commencing APHRA registration. i am dip/he qualfied with two BSc degrees at 2:1 so crossing my fingers im elligible!!! anyway, i was windering what the likelihood is of obtaining work as a care assistant while i await a decision from AHPRA, has anyone done this??
  14. Someone out there must know the answer to this question, please help!
  15. Just bumping, hoping someone can help!!
  16. I was a nurse and health visitor in the uk. I intend to arrange my registration over here, but the shifts are difficult for childcare as my husband is working away, we would struggle to find childcare at 6am or earlier! So I plan on doing the casual shift here and there. However to get a regular income I am just about to do the teacher of swimming course, so I can teach children to swim Figured we came all the way here for a new life, may as well try something new!
  17. We have been living in Springfield lakes since April. We love it here, good choice of private schools in area as well. we now have the train going from Springfield direct to brisbane so it is possible to commute from Springfield if that's where u choose to,live its such a nice area to bring up ur little ones. Postcode is 4300, pm me if u want any more info
  18. Ladycroft you have been so brave putting your feelings out there, it must have been really hard, but I bet all these amazing replies have given you some comfort. i only arrived here in April this year and feel like I could have written quite a lot of your post to be honest. i had always lived in a busy but small town, worked full time and had family and friends close by. We came here for the chance of a better life for our little boy (now 4). My husband worked in construction industry and work was not stable at all so we took a leap,of faith ad came here. The months approaching us leavin were so busy and so emotionally intense that when I arrived (me and my son came three months after hubby so I had a lot to deal with on my own back in UK) I too like u hit rock bottom, within a week really. I was looking at flights home almost straight away. We live in a lovely area, so much nicer than we could dream of living in UK, but it's very suburban so press out and I didn't have a car, felt so,isolated and with me not working it was a complete shock. I sat in a. Park one day and burst out crying cos I thought I just couldn't hack it (thankfully no one else in park!!) I went trhu a few weeks where I shut myself and my boy away in the house (I believe my record was 4 days without going out). It was awful. I couldn't see the wood for the trees, like u felt a sense of guilt that I should appreciate this opportunity, not just for us but for the people we had leftbehind, but I just couldn't. The first 2-3 months were so hard, I felt like I was grieving. I am pleased to say tho that now we are applying for permanent residency, so things do change! the best thing I did was to meet people. I had already made contact with some lovely ladies on Facebook in my area and they have been my saviours. They too are poms so "get it" and we know how it can feel when one of us is having a bad day. I was very lucky to meet them, but other than that I had to really stick my neck out to meet more people and it is so hard and some days I really didn't want to do it but I found as I met more people my confidence has grown and I have been able to enjoy this more. i signed my little boy up for soccer class and met a good friend thru there, and also joined a playgroup and I have made some great friends through there too. Is there a community centre near you, they might have a playgroup u could sign up to? Going to a playgroup is something I never did at home but here it has a been a godsend. Even if you think it's not your type of thing I would so recommend it. Also once I had been here a little while and I could see how confident, fun loving and healthy my little boy had become since arriving here it has spurred me on, he is so carefree and gets to play outdoors in th beautiful weather most days, no computers iPads etc, just good old fashioned playing out I'm doing the course to become a swim teacher now so that can fit in around my boy and kindy etc, my husband is working away Monday to Friday now and I could never have coped with this when we first came but now it's fine. Regular Skype with family makes sucha a difference too, we have set days for it and I think that routine makes all the difference. please please please give yourself a few months to see the subtle differences. Gradually you will find that u look forward more to your days and begin to feel thankful for what's around you (something that's only happened very recently to me) whatever happens, let yourself grieve for what you have left behind, it's so important if you are having a bad day don't bottle it up, but at same time going out for a walk with the kiddies or to the park may help (obviously without the tantrums, I had lots of them when we first came, we forget the littlies have been thru a lot too) its not all rosy tho, i woldnt expect it to be, I still have days when I wold happily fly home especially at this time of year, but to be honest now I feel like I would want to fly back after a couple of weeks please please feel free to pm me if u want xxxx
  19. Hi all, wee are currently in oz on a 457 visa. We are starting applications for permanent residency end of next year as we reach the two year point then. Just wondering as we need police clearance from the countries we have lived in over past ten years. How do we apply for police clearance from the uk whilst we are here? What have others done who were applying for pr from 457? We didn't require checks done before we left and they woul have been invalid after a year anyway I believe. Thanks in advance :wacko:
  20. HiyA we used seven seas move cube this year for r move and had no problems at all. £990 for the large cube then $349 once it reached Brisbane. It arrived the date they estimated and was delivered quickly. The cube fits a lot more in than u think. There was a few quarantine stickers on our items to say they had passed, but no extra charges incurred for us. Pm me if u want any more info.
  21. Hi all all we are currently in Springfield lakes having not long moved from UK. We are getting fox tell installed this week but there are still some uk shows I would like to keep up with via 4 on demand and. I player, I understand I need to install a VPN to get access? can anyone advise or recommend a good VPN? We would be looking to use either an I pad or lap top. thanks x
  22. Hi alall we have sent most of our things over to oz already with seven seas move cube in January. i also shipped my husband who went out two days after ha ha! myself and my son are heading over 4th April but I have quite a few things mostly toys that I cold do worth shipping over perhaps the week before by air freight, as it won't all fit in our cases. i have quotes from seven seas, Anglo pacific, pss and interdean, pss so far looking cheapest and seem to have good feedback. i was just wondering if anyone else can give recommendations of any companies I may not have tried before I go ahead with pss? Thanks in anticipation!
  23. We shipped a move cube in January and it all went fairly smoothly, it's due to arrive in Brisbane very soon next couple of weeks, ill post a progress report. We got a large cube (£999) and will need to pay around $350 clearance once it arrives. The company were very professional and helpful, we booked ours really late in the day as well (a week before we needed it!!!!) as we didn't ow what day my hubby would be off work. We measured the cube dimensions out on our floor with tape to give us an idea of dimensions but n the day it arrived it looked much bigger in fact we couldn't fill it and that is even after putting all our "we will fit this in if we can" items. we fit in frommemory 18 boxes varying ssizes dining table and 4 chairs 2 chests of drawers (malm from ikea) Pair bedside tables widescreen tv ottoman golf clubs 4 large plastic storage boxes 2 bikes 2 large vacum bags cclothes and quite a lot of other small things! with plentiful room to spare. hope this helps xx
