    Hi 143 applicants. Just want to let you know that I was granted a case officer on 24 August 2015 for an application lodged 10 October 2013. Make sure you have all your paperwork saved in PDF format as they will accept scanned copies including your police checks. Also, don't make the mistake I did. Ensure that all your documents have been certified in advance of being asked for them. If you are overseas have the money for the second instalment in an Australian bank account otherwise it will take 28 days for funds to clear from international banks. The payment needs to be credit card (which not many people have an $85,000 limit) or a bankers cheque. I had everything ready: Certified copies of police clearance including translations is applicable Certified copies of Passports Form 80 Medicals done Assurance of support done My visa was issued 5 days after I was allocated a case officer!! That's it folks I'm a permanent resident.

    My mum and husband lodged their application on the 11th October 2013, we have not had an acknowledgement although they have taken the money. Is this normal?

    My brother will be the sponsor, he is a citizen of Australia. We were waiting for our PR so we meet the balance of family test.

    Hi Everyone We have just been granted permanent residency which means my mum and her husband can now apply to live in Australia. Does anyone know if they can lodge their application and add their documents at a later as they are still collecting documents to be certified and waiting for police certificates? We were hoping they could lodge and at least be in the queue and add their documents as and when they get them. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Julia

    Can anyone answer some questions please? If my parents have 3 children, one in the UK, one a citizen in Australia and myself only been in Australia for 6 months on a 457 but expecting to get my pr in the next month or so. Will we meet the balance of family test as I am not a settled resident or is it only the sponsor that has to be settled? Aslo my brother who is a citizen will sponsor and lives in Melbourne but my parents want to come to Perth and live with me. Are they allowed to live in a different state to the sponsor?

    I am receiving conflicting reports about whether I need to take the IELTS to apply for the ENS 186 Direct Entry Stream. I am currently in Australia on a 457 but have not been here 2 years. Booklet 5 says: English language exemptions Applicants are required to show that they have the required English language proficiency for the visa they are applying for, or be exempt. In addition to achieving the required International English Language Test Score (IELTS) applicants can show that they meet the English language criteria by: obtaining a score of at least ‘B’ in each component of the Occupational English Test (OET) holding a passport for the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, the Republic of Ireland or New Zealand. I read it to say in addition to which means it is needed, however, the document checklist looks more like you can just use a UK passport for the Engligh requirement. Please help I cant seem to get this cleared up?

    Hi We have been in Perth for 3 months on a 457 and want to apply for a direct entry stream to get PR so we dont have to wait the 2 years for temporary transistion. We can go down the route of the ENS 186 if we do the Ilets and a Vetsassess, but am wondering about the RSMS 187. Do you require a the Ilets and Vetsassess for the RSMS? My husband is an Anaesthetic Technician so is not a trade and does not require the TRA. I do not understand the requirements for direct entry under RSMS?

    Hi Ali After searching everything on the internet, we chose to book with Perth Furnished Rentals, a 2 bed apartment is 600€ a week including bills. There are a few sites you can try aussiemove.com stayz.com perthfurnishedrentals.com mondo apartments, gumtree. Good luck!
