I have a bank account with NAB which I opened when I was on holiday. It was very easy to do: I needed an address ( my son's ), a phone number ( my DinL was with me so gave her mobile ), passport and driving licence. I didn't even need to put in any money at the time!

i used FedEx. I sent them on a Friday and they arrived Tuesday after. Cost £50.

Good idea. I know sometimes know I went at Easter but that could be March or April so I hope they allow a month out.

my passport hasn't been stamped for Europe and last time I went to Aus, at Easter this year, it wasn't even stamped then as I went through the lane that does it electronically.

It's trying to remember all the holiday dates that is so difficult. I know all the Aus visits but European holidays are difficult.

I thought Medicare immediately and pension after ten years and it's means tested. Also some senior cards are means tested.

I need to get in my application for a 143 but keep putting it off as I can't decide if I should use an agent or not and if I do which to choose. Any advice?

Watch the tolls! I borrowed the little " thing " you put on the windscreen from my son when I went over the toll bridge near Brisbane but it must be connected to the car registration because they still sent a fine to the rental company who took it from my credit card.
