Having said that the nomination approval document does require employers to notify Immi of any change of circumstances, so make sure nothing formal is announced before your visa is through, just in case.

I don't think so unfortunately. Our nomination was approved in May, our visa application was submitted in early July (for reasons beyond our control) and we're still waiting for our application to move from "received" over 4 months later.

They will be processed separately. If you are extremely lucky your visa application might be considered when they look at your nomination (which would be about March), but you might get your nomination then have to wait longer - weeks or months for your visa to come to the top of the pile.

They're processing June applications at the moment (with a few May/July ones thrown in for good measure). Current processing times are about 5 months. Yup that's right, employees have to satisfy the training benchmark via route A or B from the date of sponsorship and every year thereafter. But what they need to pay is 2% of everyone's wages, not just yours. Unless you're the only employee, and I'm sure there's a requirement that sponsoring employers should also be employing Aussies.

As in that pdf, your employer should have paid 2% of his total payroll (which includes super etc) into a training fund, for every year they have been a sponsor. That's 2% of everyone's earnings (and extras), including you, not just 2% of your salary.

Hi In order to be able to sponsor you, the training benchmark requires that your employer proves EITHER that they have spent 1% of their total payroll on training for Australian employees each year they have been sponsoring you (ie since your 457 started), OR that they have paid 2% of their total payroll into an appropriate training fund. Does that help?

As far as I know it's up to your company to show that they have spent 1% of payroll on training all their Australian employees for each financial year that they have been sponsoring you. Either that or that they have paid 2% of payroll to a training fund. It's not up to you, and you cannot pay 2% of your wages, that's nothing to do with the training benchmark. I am not sure whether the 2% payment can be done retrospectively. It took me weeks to dig up sufficient training records for my company to be approved - good luck...

My nomination was granted about 3 days after (I) had submitted the extra docs requested by the CO on behalf of my employer. Unfortunately nobody noticed the confirmatory email and I was on extended leave, so wasted 6 weeks when I could have lodged visa application. I was seriously unhappy...

Hi again, You classed my 05 Audi A3 as category B, albeit borderline because of the low mileage, thanks for the info. I've now had it valued at about £6-6.5k here, and am still looking at the high cost of getting something to replace it in Perth. What are the (rough) costs of actually getting it there - your fee ($990?), $1000 workshop costs (is that correct), is there an import permit cost on top? And how much would shipping be, roughly, from the UK to Perth, and would this be in a container or what? Is RoRo actually on the deck of a ship??? And does that take the usual 6-8 weeks to travel therefore we'd be looking at 3 months without the car? Thanks very much.

We'd be coming on a 457, if that makes any difference? Cheers..
