Had a look at the UK equivalent to the 175 visa, the Tier 2, a very similar selection criteria except, yep you guessed it, age requirement. ps don't think all the troubles with illegal immigrants in the UK is being caused by the geriatrics :biggrin:

This is better, what if in the 17 years I'd be "productive", I "produce" more than a 35 year old who, just because he is a certain age "produces". There is more to a persons worth than their age. As to whether DIAC has the resources to investigate the overall effectiveness of each candidate I dont know, but it seems its discouraging a numbers of people who could contribute to Australia just because they are over 45.

Whats this got to do with my question regards the weighting of the selection criteria being heavily biased towards those younger than 46 ?
