  1. Hi, we have moved to Bateau Bay, and we are a five minute walk to the beach. Its a beautiful place and everyone seems pretty friendly. I haven't started school yet, because we arrived here a couple months ago and the schools have just broken up for summer holidays and start a new year in January. We have looked around the schools and enrolled me and my two sisters in schools. The schools seem nice, but extremely different from british schools. I'm starting year 11 in January, got my uniform and my timetable. It's my first year of my HSCs. I dont know what to expect. Ive chosen six subjects to do for my hscs and a qualification (certificate 2, the equivalent of an A level) in entertainment. English was the only compulsory subject for me, but it may be different at your school! Since being here I haven't really met anyone yet, like no one my age. But my parents reassure me that I will make friends when I start school...so hopefully! ahah! I hope the move for you and your family goes well. If you need any help then just message me:) Speak soon! Laura:)
  2. Im 16 and me and my family have just moved to Bateau Bay and i havent started school yet. I havent really met anyone since being here and i was wondering what sort of things there are to do in bateau bay for teenagers. I honestly dont know the area that well yet. If there are any teenagers in Bateau bay...i would love to talk to someone about school and places to go out ..... Thanks:)
  3. Thankyou! Yeah Im still not too sure on schools, but I guess I will get used to it more when I'm out there! Thanks for the infomation! Very useful!
  4. I'm moving in 4 months, and will be 16. I'm really nervous about starting a new school, and meeting friends. I don't even know what year I would be in. This is probably what most teenagers say before they move, but I really would want to talk to someone about it all. We aren't to sure on where we are moving yet, but probably be near the central coast, but that isn't definet. So if anyone around my age is willing to talk, I would appreciate it! Cheers
  5. 15, 16 in a few months moving to NSW, not sure where yet, in 7 months. Would love to speak to someone around my age who has already moved. I've got to the stage where I'm really nervous and just need to talk to someone to feel more confident about the move. Haha! Cheers
  6. Thankyou! Yes! Would love to talk to someone who is there!
  7. Hey! Where abouts did you move? I would love to talk to you! I have so many questions that I need to ask! Hahah! Thanks!

  10. Yeah sure! How old are you? We are moving nearer 2014 and would also like to make freinds!
  11. About a year and a bit!! Eugh so far away! and I think he was born in tamworth. That's where most of my family lives currently, it's slightly in the country and is really sparse! I went there when I was four or so and I don't remember much except the weather and my mum and step dads wedding! Hehe
  12. Yeah! im not completely sure either! but i think im repeating year 11 but im really not sure! havent really researched it enough to know whats actually happening!
  13. We aren't exactly sure yet! But we are looking at the east coast! Yeah! Im just moving into year ten too! We re planning to go around the areas too to check out what its like! I'm moving with my mum and step dad and leaving my dad in England:/ but my mum and step dad are kind of staying because of me because I want to stay for gcse and prom! But when we go out there are you doing another year of school?
  14. In exactly the same position! You moving into year 10? Im moving in 2014! Where abouts you going?
  15. Thankyou! Movin out there in about a year and a bit! All I've heard sa far is positive comments about it! Thankyou!
  16. That is so wierd! My step dad was born in Australia and always wanted to go back! We are also going on a the australian passport thingy! haah! Im very family orientated! Ecspecially with my cousins ns step sister and my dads mum! Haaha! the weedding thing made me laugh, but dont worry i do it too, it doesnt hurt to dream! Dont worry i haven't been on here in a while either! Your so lucky moving in 8 months! My grandma in australia has been sending us all these newspapers with houses in and we have been house hunting, some of the houses are amazing! I really would like to live really close to the beach though, i know i may no happer but the beaches over there seem amazing!
  17. Hi, Im Laura, moving to the goldcoast in a about a year and i would like to get to know some pople in the same position or already out there!
  18. So I really want to know what australia is like, so please reply with "where you love in australia" and ten words to describe it! Me and my family dont know where to move yet, and I thought this would be a good idea to get to know places better!
  19. Yes, I am moving to the same area in about a year time, also 14 going on 15! Im probably not much help though, as I am in the same position as you! haha
  20. Im exactly the same, 15 into rock music! haha! my parents told me a while ago, im movng with my mum and not my dad, obviusly he is upset about that! I have got used to the idea of moving, but we are moving to the goldcoast instead, im moving in a year! And everytime i go to tell someone about it they say "you have to go, although we will miss you! Its better to try something, rather than gowing up and wondering what its like!"
  21. aw! If I was in your position with only a few months left I would also feel mixed emotions! I'm also worried going to feel homesick and getting on the plane will be very very exciting but also emotional! I can't wait till you get out there and tell me what it's like! I'm so excited! We have a year and 200 days left! Eugh so long! Sometimes I don't know what to tell my teachers because it's quite personal but I guess they have to know! Ah! You must be so excited!
  22. I have met some really useful and nice people on here who have answered most of my questions. But i want someone my age just to talk to and have a conversation about life in australia! thanks!
  23. Haha! To be honest popularity doesn't mean anything! And Thankyou you do too! I wouldn't want to change anything about my friends either, but we will obviously keep in contact! My hair is exactly the same, I usually wear it down straight and when it rains, it goes into Afro form! Haha! My hair is naturally wavy too! I do like my hair wavy but it gets so annoying sometimes! My festival was really good! But because of the rain there was about 20cm of mud and it was horrible but the music was good and that's the reason why we went! Haha! I heard they do a lot of music festivals on the gold coast for free! I'm so excited! England's alright, if it was more sunny and beaches were nicer and more thing to do! I think Australia will have more! My teachers have started asking me about it! And yesterday one of my closest friends moved back to India forever! And to see everyone's reaction to that! I know what to expect we are down to a year and a bit now! Haha! I'm still counting down! Haha! This summer im determined to go out and make the most of Britain and my mates! Me and my family have like made a list of things to do before we go! Ahh so excited!
  24. Haha! Not at all! I'm counting down too! Haha! I have like a countdown on my ipod! (maybe it is sad) hahaha!Yes yes! It's is true! The girls do act that way! Some of them have so much confidence it's unbelievable! But to be honest I don't hang out with them! I have about 10really really close friends! Four boys six girls! Every lunch we just move away from all the "popular" people and eat outside somewhere else and just chat! It's really nice because we are such close mates! I wouldn't say I was popular haha! But I'm happy with my friends because we share the same interests and get along! And that is all what matters! I have my frineds which are confident, some friends which are funny! Some friends which are really into the same music as me! And some which just like everything i like! We go out quite a lot! But the weather ruins it most time! What do you like doing when you go out with your friends? We usally go to town or just Sit in a park! Haha! We always just go out eat and then chill with a milkshake In the arcade! Haha! It actually really fun! :)That's actually really weird because I was made to play rounders today...in the rain and last lesson! It's hell! I actually hate it! I know the rain is actually so depressing! I am hoping to go to a festival next weekend and if the weather is like this it's going to be horrible!
