Hi we are breaking our lease and our rental 4/2 will be available from 6th May. $416 per week pets considered (we have a german shepheard), 2 min walk to Comet Bay PS and 10min walk to Comet bay College. PM me if you need any further info.

Hi my hubby Derek & I just moved out 3wks ago, living in 2 different holiday villas for 1st few wks. We had dilemma with areas but have just got the 1st rental we applied for. We gave copies of bank statements, pictures of our old house in uk which we sold & offered to pay in advance, owner was happy to accept normal mthly payments for rent but think it may have helped. We have 2 boys 15 & 12 & schools were own main issue. We like the north better now but had put in for rental while south. We liked Atwell (Cockburn shopping centre really close) but hard to get rental there as we also have a dog, so gave up on that area. Best thing is to get feel for each area & go with your gut instinct, we drove around & went for coffees etc & visited shopping centres etc to get to know areas, also helped reading other peoples experiences. :biggrin: -
Can anyone advise on how/where to insure car due to arrive via shippers. We need to register it etc as soon as clears customs but all insurance co's want Oz reg no which we dont have until registered.:cool:

We fly out on the 18th to Perth, furniture and car left us 11 days ago and it's still sitting at Grangemouth waiting on a UK customs inspection!!. But can't wait to get some warm sun.

Ours has been delayed in the UK for over a week now, shipper has told us it was a random search (mainly due to our car being with our furniture) but it means we have missed 2 shipping dates.I was expecting a delay in Australia but not one leaving the UK, has anyone else ever experienced a similar situation?

Has anyone managed to get the additional baggage allowance for one way tavel when migrating through Quantas, we've booked our flights with them but I cant see anything about getting the extra allowance.

<p><p>Hi Tracy, got through to the third interview and I thought it was a certainty I was going to be offered the role but heard nothing and that was weeks ago, bit depressing. I am reconsidering the whole thing to be honest, I've applied for loads of jobs with no response, can't get the house sold and I am wary about quitting a decent job with no prospects of getting a similar role in Australia. I am going to give it a month and if the house sale and job prospects are still looking the same then I think we will just knuckle down with life here.</p></p>

<p><p>I was the same first time around I only got 7.5 in reading. I done dozens of practice test and what i found that worked was to underline the sections of the questions and do the same with the text. This helped me establish what response to submit, think it helped as my practice results got better and I ultimatley got over 8 in the test. Hope things go well.</p></p>

<p><p>I haven't been applying for jobs yet been waiting for the visa to be approved first, but I have been tol it is not easy to get a job from the UK so I have decided it might mean that I wil need to go out for a few weeks but need to get the visa first.</p></p>
<p><p>I used an agent as I was tight on time (turn 45 this March) and things have went very quick and I think the agent has helped I would use one, we used Ian Harrop especially with the new changes in July as this will slow the whole process down greatly. The whole process has cost us about £6K so far. Good Luck</p></p>

<p><p>Hi Skippy I applied for a building Associate as well, oiginally I was going to apply as a project manager but you need a degree to apply as a PM. It took bout 8 weeks for my Vettasses application to go through and about 4 weeks to get all the info organised (wage slips, letters from employers etc etc), this was quicker than normal as it takes about 12 weeks normally. The Ielts are awkward but I managed to get all 8's at the second attempt, do loads of practice tests and I also took a few lessons from an IELTS teacher on the writting section, search for a thread on PIO titled I''ELTS 22nd October'' you will find loads ofinfo you can download that are a great help.</p></p>

Thanks all just need to try and forget about it and yes getting very excited, now starting to worry about homes, schools and jobs. Will it ever end!

Well my Pee was okay, blood pressue fine, no issues during the examination but the radiographer said my sons X-ray was fine no issues but at mine she said the doctors would look at it tomorrow and it would take 7 days to get the bloods back. I'll be a nervous wreck by the time i get to Oz (if I get there).
