  2. Hi Mark Berwick has a range of shop on a high street with a 'village' style look. Lots of restaurants and coffee bars. We have a big shopping mall called Fountaingate nearby too, which is currently being extended...

Sam
  4. Hi I'm Sam a midwife in Melbourne (UK trained 20yrs), we came on 457 visa - we had an agency to get job, made whole process very easy and smooth, sent all my stuff in Jan 2011, got job offer Feb 2011, got visa and reg April 2011, came out July 2011 with hubby and 2 sons. Just done our application for permanent residency (856 ENS).. Sam
  5. Hi hardest part was getting my transcript of training from UKCC!!! and then they 'failed' to mention I needed a 'pack'! which you have to pay for.....but getting CV done really well and signed by Mngr and other documents important but easy if you kept all your stuff together.......Sent mine Jan 2011, got visa and reg by April 2011 came out July 2011. Midwifery abit more medicalised here and 'jump in' with intervention too quickly sometimes. Lifestyle worth it - still have busy days at work as everywhere, but we have no regrets... I did do IELTS - everyone laughed at me doing an English test (I did revise for it!!!! ) - I got my job (had 2 jobs, with option of 3rd) with an agency and they made the whole process very very easy and were in control of contacting AHPRA and immigration. Hope this helpful....
  6. Hi All We have been in Berwick (well Cranbourne North) for 7 months - has gone in a flash as we both work fulltime. Our eldest son (20) is back and forth to UK for Uni - I understand how hard it is...our youngest son (18) is going to Uni here La Trobe in 2 wks! Will be just the 2 of us....I work at Casey Hospital - different form UK but lots of things the same. We have no regrets moving here. Gonna start looking into yoga/pilates classes - anyone have any info? Any hiking clubs here? Thanks everyone Sam
