    URGENT UPDATE - Shipping Pets

so far my 6 year old cat has even avoided a cattery as we've always managed to get a house sitter to come & stay when we go on holiday... a 7 mile trip to the vet is traumatic enough so he'll be miserable as hell... my 5 year old greyhound was kennelled as a racer his first 4 years so I am hoping he will take it in his stride.. gonna be gutted to be parted with my maxy dog even for a month... i'll be lost without him.

    URGENT UPDATE - Shipping Pets

Excuse my ignorance but my hubby is in the process of going through interviews just now .... I would be taking my cat & my dog with me & if i were to start the process of their rabies vacc & blood tests just now but say we were STILL here in 10-12 months time, what then ? I understand currently we need atleast 6 months this side for them to get away with only 30 days quarrantine but i'm unsure what happens if a certain time lapses. many thanks.
  3. Hi everyone. Would the original posters annual salary also be of similar suitability for Brisbane area (decent family orientated suburbs, not researched them enough yet) family of 4, kids nearly 8 & 12... (oh & 1 dog + 1 cat lol) Husband is working his way through interviews for a job with similar salary, the first year being around the lower rate of 160 as they pay the re location costs then the 2nd year salary would go up by around what that re loc costs were.

    Edibles ?

do you know if this would be the same if you had the things in your shipping container ?
  5. lynn22

    Edibles ?

    thanks, i'll check that out.

    Edibles ?

too right it will be Chardy, I would hate to tot up my edibles stock costs & will hate to start from scratch & pay out to build that stock back up again. Oh well meantime I have to worry about making bloomin star wars cake toppers for someone & my mammoth halloween task I've thrust upon myself haha

    Edibles ?

I realise edibles arent allowed to be shipped (such as kitchen cupboard herbs, spices etc) but I suddenly thought last night whilst decorating cupcakes that I have a very well (expensive) stocked case of colouring pastes for my cake making & decorating hobby, along with edible glues & parafanelia.. am I right in thinking I wont be allowed to take these ?:arghh::sad::cry: Obviously being at the start of this I should have a fair time to use some it but not all & it would be so expensive to replenish everything again at the other side.

    URGENT UPDATE - Shipping Pets

Hiya Thanks for the update. If we are hoping to move across in 12-24 months from now would you suggest I just start the ball rolling RE rabies vaccs now even on the off chance our moving plans dont come off (which hopefully wont happen) ?

    members,and there pets

A few of my pics I cant leave out my RIP bridge boys.. they were my most special boys ever.. starting with my first greyhound & my true soul mate Jake Then his big character .. archie who was jakes brother (and a big champion on the race track altho that side of things was nothing to do with me , i got them when they were retired Archie And Jakes son.. I got him when he was 2 & lost him last november at the age of 13.. sadly missed as I always felt I had a piece of my Jake by having wonderful tommy boy here by my side. Tom Tom Now my boys I still have here.. Logan who is unrelated to the rest.. unraced as he was "deformed" so we've had him since he was 4 months old, He has "woblers syndrome" & every month he's here is a blessing.... he is only 10 years old. Logan & finally maxy bear.. I adopted him in april 1 week after he retired & he turned 4 in May.. a WONDERFUL addition to my family & we have developed a really close bond, he's just fabulous. (he's also in my avatar) My short haired LaPerm cat (they are curly or wavy coated) very human orientated, even more so that siamese etc but less demanding & ecentric .. Cody hates other cats but loves the greyhounds... he is very much lord of the manor. Carly the corn snake & dumbo, louie & alvin the rats

    Tea

Oh my god I'm nearly green & gagging just reading this :arghh: I am mainly a tea drinker but on the rare occasions i fancy a coffee its... nescafe normal, about 1/3 of a tea spoon & NO MORE... & about 4 sweeteners in to counteract the bitterness, I do prefer it with coffee mate too but thats not great for dieting. I cant believe anyone could have THREE spoons of coffee.. oh me that would poison me LOL

    Tea

My hubby has been tea total since he was about erm.. 16 or 17 :biglaugh: (he never liked the taste & always prefered being able to ride his motorbikes everywhere) Anyway he does have 1 huge weakness & addiction....... TEA :notworthy: It has to be TETLEY.. always in a pint mug.. now adays he's reduced his sugar intake considerably & only has 2 sugars & 1 teaspoon of honey  (you dont want to know how many sugars he used to take) Unfortunately it seems my 11 year old son is going to follow suit & is turning into a right tea gienie aswell.... although I am trying desperately to get him to like it without sweetening. HaHa he also has quite a few metal travel mugs to sip whilst he's leaving the house at 5.30 - 6 am for the hours drive to the office.

    Cat proofing a garden!

what about a half way house measure.. in my last house we were lucky enough to be able to put a cat flap in the wall & it lead directly out to a huge enclosure.. round the back/side of the house so no one saw it.. however when we moved (built a new house) knocking holes in walls was obviously a complete no no so I got something along this lines. (wasnt quite the same but you get the idea) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-x-6-CATTERY-CAT-HOUSE-CAT-RUN-SAFETY-CORRIDOR-/270803721848?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Cats&hash=item3f0d28de78

    Cat proofing a garden!

cat proofing gardens are fairly common with some people now here in the uk.. also alot of cats do ok being indoors.. mine has always been totally indoors, i can leave windows & even a door open & he wont go out, my rip 2 moggies were both outdoors, one was very happy being indoors & the other escaped at every given opportunity so we built an out door run for him. http://www.katzecure.com/ http://www.fabcats.org/owners/fencing/info.html http://www.mycatfence.co.uk/choosing.php
