  1. Hi im looking for sponsorship to Queensland, i work at present for a water consultancy company, which headhunted me from my previous work place which was a very large water company where i had worked my way up, i started in customer service, eventually became a trainer for new employees but chasing large accounts is where my passion lies the water industry is really my passion but i love to be challenged and will not let a client down. Im now looking to further my career within Australia and looking for an employer to sponsor me. My sister and her family live in the sunshine coast area Queensland, so that area would be ideal along with Brisbane if possible. I can transfer my skills to any industry and willing to undertake any training thats necessary. If you are an employer, agent or you know anyone that can help me please get in touch. Karen.
  2. Hi danny did you have any luck hubby did training courses aswel but unable to find any work in ndt at present. Also did a bit in the uk in this industry. Do you know companies that are hiring? Cheers good luck with your interview
  3. Try not to feel guilty is easier said than done, im lucky my parents have my two sisters in the uk so if any thing happened to them i know they would be there for them but doesnt stop me feeling guilty, im glad we have made the decision to live in oz but its not easy and like some others have said you dont want to move and just be worrying about your family back home because you wont settle, it has to be a def decision either way. Perhaps it may help by talking it through with them and see how your mom reacts and her thoughts might change, my mom was fine to start with but then had the guilt put on me, said things like im never visiting, i hope you have told the kids wont ever see me again etc and thats hard but you have to understand their feeling aswell, in the end all is good, parents visiting next year can see how happy and settled we are and tell us now not to go back and have a good life. big decision for you i wish you well in what ever you decide. X
  4. My eldest son stayed at school till last minute because he was on a weekly school trip that last week and didnt want to miss it. My middle son was in reception and i took him out a week before so he could spend time with grandparents for that last week. Turned out good that way for us as we was stopping with one set of grandparents and saw the other set in the daytime.
  5. Its very emotional and home sickness does kick in but you do over come it. I find it hard some days but i dont miss the uk but the people in it. I feel we have done the best thing for the kids, they do miss everyone but have settled and made some great friends. we have had some great weather and its so nice to see the kids playing outdoors althou they do still like their xboxes especially my elder lad as keeps in touch with friends in uk that way.

  15. I presume it depends on your type of visa you apply for we have pr which was about 1k for agent (dont hve to use one), then you have to pay for the actual visa and if you need your skills tested cost us about 2.5k in total. I cant remember the amount we wrote about saving but with selling cars, house etc it was proberbly about 80k but im not sure if you can put a much lower amount.
  16. Hi claire what sort of info are you after, visas, areas, costs, agents etc do you know if you can apply for a visa what line of work do u both do
  17. Hi welcome, i have been on here for a few years and find it very helpful, we are moving end of may this year. i would try and get visa first as if your not able to get one then everything else is pointless plus it can take a while to process. Then depending on your visa you have 12 months to validate it and four more years to move. I was worried about medicals as i think alot of people are but its very straight forward and to be honest dont ask much, you have bloods taken, eye test, weight, xray on chest area, a bit of stretching and bending by dr but all simple stuff and unless find anything dont contact your gp. so i really wouldnt worry about your meds. good luck

  22. Hi we have narrowed it down to the two shipping companies, cannot decide which to go with, jm are slightly cheaper by a 100 quid but pss are throwing in free airfreight up to 25kg and a free wooden craft for jukebox. hard decision dont want to get it wrong, i know things happen thou so i expect broken items, and would you say better to use there insurance or go with insure your move? any help is great thank you
  23. I agree with most of the comments and can only imagine how terrible it is to nearly lose your child or family member to a preventable disease but my point was its hard to make the right choose, i will get my third son immunised as there is no alternative i would like there to be a choice but at present there isnt a choice, as explain earlier my second son had singles but told needs a dose of mmr to make sure they worked but my oldest son who also has singles doesnt need an dose of the mmr why? he had singles aswell. If you are willing to pay for singles then they should be an option i would just like a choice.
