  1. My visa was granted this afternoon!!!! Soooo happy! They're coming guys hold onto your horses
  2. Hi Leah, did calling make any difference to the speed they are processing you're visa though? When I called a very unhelpful lady said it says it is pending- after being on hold for an hour!!!!
  3. Yes I lodged in June, sent in requested docs in aug weeks ago and haven't heard anything for per 3 weeks! Every email I jump! Feel like it is never going to happen!!
  4. I emailed forever ago so fingers crossed soon!
  5. Oh awesome congrats! Perhaps they are starting to move again! When did you last hear from them before that?
  6. I called and they were useless and just said it says pending! Great! When will it hurry up
  7. I don't think a drink driving offense will matter?! Mine is taking ages too! They requested payslips and now after reading others' posts I'm worried I haven't sent tax slips etc! Just want it granted
  8. I lodged in June, had medical in may. All info in 10 days ago! Just waaaaiiiiting! Every email I jump out of my skin! Has anyone had theirs granted recently?
  9. Hi All, when you get your case officer do you receive an email or do we need to be checking the immiacount all the time? I was going to wait for a case officer before going to book my medical...should I just book the medical? I lodged my Visa beginning of June- I have heard absolutely nothing other than the bridging visas
  10. Hi Guys, Starting this thread so anyone that is in the same boat can share how they are getting on. I have lodged mine. I haven't had my medical yet. Anyone else end of May, beginning of June want to share where they are up to??
  11. No I got nothing but I did get invited on the 22nd hopefully will apply tomorrow!!!
  12. Ok in the mean time I am between jobs. I will wait until my 90 days is almost up in whoch I need to get a new sponsor before panicking. I will be so happy once all the visa rubbish is over
  13. Ok great thank you! I read somewhere that you were allowed to stay and live and could only work by the same rules as your current visa eg for the same sponsor. But also understood it that you didn't have to do exactly as your current visa stipulated eg didn't have to work?
  14. I have 90 days before having to find a new sponsor, due to mental health reasons I had to leave my current job. I have 90 days to find a new sponsor or leave. I was hoping that I may be granted a new visa in that time (ha ha not going to happen). It is ridiculous as if I get a new sponsor now it would only be for a few months to cover me "legally" as after that I would want to quit... due to my mental health being in full time veterinary work. How long in general do the visas take to be granted? My other option is applying for a partner visa but I would prefer the 189 as it is a permanent visa and is much cheaper.
  15. Since people have been talking about no more places they still seem to have had more invitations...I really hope they are doing invites as if I have to wait until June then my 90 days will likely be up on my 457 visa that I need to find a new sponsor eek.
  16. Hi guys, I have just received my officialy IELTS results and therefore had enough points to submit my Expression of interest. Is anyone else at the same stage- waiting to get an invitation? In the April visa applying group there is talk of there being a hold on granting due to many applicants!! :arghh: I haven't done a medical yet- eek I had better book that in as I want to apply for a visa as soon as I get an invite. Really hoping we don't have to wait long- some people have only had to wait a few days although I reckon now it will be next month! :daydreaming: Does anyone know how to insert a signature onto the bottom of these posts? I can't seem to see the option on 'My profile'. It is definitely handy to see everyone's progression.
  17. Hi Guys, just reading about the visas being put on hold until July...does this mean no more invitations? or no visas being granted? Also how do you get informed that you are invited to apply? Kind regards
  18. Also is it the "academic" or "general training" IELTS that is required?
  19. It is ridiculous that having been educated in England up to the point of finishing a veterinary degree you still have to take part in an English exam it is expensive and means I have to wait another month or so before I can even enter my expression of interest. Hard fitting in a test sitting when you are also working weekends grr
  20. Hi all, I am a vet in Aus currently trying to express interest for the 189 and when I finished my points test I ended up with 55 and need the 60. i think the only way I can get the extra points is by doing the english test. I studied a 5 year degree in England but yet still need to do the test to prove that I have profcient english?? Is there any way of getting the points without carrying out the test?? Any help accepted
  21. Oh is this so^ you can't work for a different employer. I was of the understanding you could work if your previous visa allowed you to. It would however make sense if it was the exact same entitlement
  22. Damn I just wrote heaps then it disappeared. your 457 won't have disappeared in 8 weeks so you can still work but your new employer would have had to nominate you approx $400. Only a little tricky if they have to also do the business visa bit before that! So total about $1000 but that bit is a bit of a faff for them. but if you have been granted a bridging visa then you should be able to work for the new employer without them nominating you. It states that on the bridging visa (I'm assuming not E) you can work if your previous visa enabled you to work- in your case yes a 457
  23. I thought there was doctorate above that
  24. Hi guys, just wondering with work when you start on a 189 visa is there a requirement for the type of job or number of hours?
  25. Then you need money- LOTS of it! Because the waiting list is so long for the 'standard' Parent visa (30+ years), the only really practical option (processing time 18-24 months) is a Contributory Parent visa which will cost around $50,000 for each parent. Holy moly that is a lot!! Ridiculous! I am my mother's only child so that part is easy....all so frigging expensive
