Hi all, My daughter in law has been sponsored for the last two years in Perth as a mental health nurse on a 457 visa. Things have changed so much since my visa was sorted we’re quite out of the loop as to how to sort PR. Shes registered with AHPRA has a degree in nursing but has only been qualified 3 years in September. We’ve looked through the points and new EOI info but are confused. Can someone point us in the right path for the easiest way to apply for PR. Hopefully without doing the IELTS ? thank you in advance Nic

Hi guys, Just after a bit of advice please My husband and I have been in Perth for three years and my husband is working as a labourer. He is actually a painter and decorator with a CPC30611 Certificate III Painting and Decorating. He was self employed in the UK. It seems he can't work as a painter and decorator here without additional couses, i.e small business and estimating. Does anyone have any experience of this, i would greatly appreciate any advice Cheer Nic

Thanks for your reply Suzukiscottie I think you're right. Prob more hassle than it's worth. It's just been a really difficult process. He qualified 6months before his WHV so has a years experience in oz. And Only 6 in the UK. Heres hoping someone has some good advice. He really doesn't want to go home. cheers nic

Thanks for your reply Marisa, We've spoken to and been let down by agents unfortunately that's why I wanted some advice from the amazing people on here. He qualified in the UK over two years ago. His apprenticeship is formwork joinery. His most recent agent tells us he needs a skills assessment but I've also read he doesn't. Things are so confusing and we're just not happy to give even more money to agents. Cheers nic

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help on a sponsorship query i have. My son is a forming joiner, has completed two years of a working holiday visa and is currently on a student visa due to finish in October. He may have the opportunity to be sponsored. The questions we have are, His employer has never sponsored anyone before, it is a small firm of approx 5 other workers, how difficult is it? Can he be sponsored now or does he have to complete his student visa first? and Does he need a skills assessment? Thank you in advance nik

Hi, thanks for your reply Thats their other option. His girlfriend has been oz on a WHV since Sept this year but they have both been backwards and forward since Jan and I think the de facto rule has changed about having to live together. Still If he was able to stay on a student visa that period of living together would be longer. Like I said we need the fast fix desperate I know but that's where we are :wubclub: Any ideas? thanks again Nik

Hi, You're right it is a temporary solution and thats what we need for the time being. He is working with a migration agent and looking into the chances of doing his carpentry skills assessment with vettases. He has the experience he is a forming joiner. Really just need a quick fix to bridge a gap to extend his stay until he can sort other options he has open to him. Im happy to receive other ideas if you have any. Cheers Nik

Cheers Quoll, its a temporary fix i know but thats what we need at the moment. He's a forming joiner but his girlfriend is a mental health nurse and they are looking into sponsorship for her too. So we are looking at the cheapest option really that will extend his visa. Any course and the best length of stay. We've spent the best part of this year doing IELTS and preparing for his skills assessment Just don't want him to have to leave. Cheers Nik

Hi All, Was looking for some advice regarding a student visa for my son. Unfortunately his skills assessment may fall through for his PR application therefore we are looking for the best student visa. Focusing on Both price and length of stay and wondered if anyone had any ideas or experience of this. He needs this to be processed before Feb when his second WHV ends. Unfortunately do to the promise of sponcorship he hasn't quite fulfilled his regional requirements i just thought someone might have experienced this cheers though

Hi there, can anyone tell me how long after a working holiday visa can I apply for a visitor visa. My son needs to leave following his working holiday visa next week, he is in the middle of applying for sponsorship but this is looking less promising so we are hoping he can return asap and investigate other opportunities onshore. We are wondering how long he would need to be out of the country before applying for a visitor visa to be able to do this. Many thanks nik

Thanks for that, There seems so many hoops to jump through, both my husband and I are in Perth at the moment, I'm a nurse but as my son was not classed as a dependent when we applied we couldn't include him on our PR. Maybe if sponsorship isn't a route we can use he'll have to do regional work then apply for his second WHV he'd be two yrs post qualifying then. thanks again nik

He has been with his current employer in Perth for 4months and his employer has agreed to look into sponsorship for him. He has only been qualified in his trade for 1 year. Hi all, I have a query and wondered if anyone could help. I'm a nurse in perth with permanent residency and my son (who had no interest in Oz) has joined us on a WHV. I no he needs to do regional work for his second year but ideally He would like to stay here permanently without the looming threat of having to leave. Can I sponsor him? Hi all, im in a little panic. Our shippers come in two weeks to put our belongings in storage for two months. I am about to apply to ship our car and which we will be delivering to the shippers in October and I'm struggling a little with the new on line documents and what they want. She is hoping to do a three yr primary education degree with OTS. After reading some post and now knowing that she has to study at uni for four yrs, our query is, if she then undertook a masters programme for a further year whilst working as a primary school teacher would this be acceptable or does she need a PGCE. cheers Nic:wubclub:

Hi there, Just hoping for some expert advice as always. I have permanent residency along with my husband and children and are hoping to leave for our new adventure ASAP.. My daughter who is 21 and who also has residency has decided to stay in the UK with her boyfriend. If she decides to join us at a later date will her permanent residency status give her boyfriend any chance of gaining residency too. If not what's the best way of keeping us all together in oz.
