1. Hi James, Thanks for the reply don't you sleep LOL.... yea i saw that on the news a few weeks ago i was wondering how it would affect the sponsorship. My OH spoke to his sponsor last Monday and as far as he was aware it was still going ahead they had applied to the board to be certified. I didn't realise the CEC course took so long, I was thinking 3 months or so, he's been an electrician for 20 years so has lots of experience, don't know if that makes a difference. We are in Ireland so my OH is not required to do vetassess only TRA which he has done for the 176. As soon as (IF) the 457 comes through he will be ready to do his full licence. I'm slightly confused about the business qualification peer never mentioned it neither did the SA licencing authority. Can you tell me what kind of business qualification ? Thanks for all your help James much appreciated. Maria.
2. Hi James in our case my OH is doing the course in peer in Adelaide through distance learning, he just started the work book. He has an employer willing to sponsor him in NSW so will have to change the licence to a NSW one, the employer said once he had a SA licence he could work for him straight away. He will also be working with solar power and has to do a solar design and install ticket just wondering if you know anything about this course ? Thanks a mill James. Maria
3. Hi as far as i know you don't need the VETASSES course as your not the main applicant. You do have to obtain your licence you can do this in peer in Adelaide the course is approx $1400 including book's, you can do it by distance learning, you fill in a workbook and then do 4 days in Adelaide, revision and two tests. You will also need to get a ARTC cert from TRA that takes 30 days. Then when you have the cert from peer and ARTC you can apply for a SA electrical licence, that takes 6 week's. You can transfer it to any state you want once you have it. I suspect your agent is thinking of the cost of the licence its $300. I have all the info on the peer course if you want it just send me a PM with your e mail address. good luck. Maria.
4.
Congratulations on becoming CAT 2 :jiggy:

5. Hi Ciara, I feel your pain i have to do it all too what are they like.... Yea he could do the peer course in SA before he gets his ARTC, but to be honest you might be better off waiting because you need both to get the licence in SA and it would save you a second trip to Adelaide I was on to peer last night, they sent me all the information if you want i can send it to you just PM me your e mail address. I'm originally from finglas and the OH is from East wall but we're living in donaghmede now. Life is obviously treating you well in Sydney if your staying. Thomas has lots of relations in Sydney so when the 457 comes through that's were we will head to first. Well bye from a surprisingly sunny but not so surprisingly cold Dublin, talk to you later Maria.
6. Hi Ciara, Did your boyfriend do a TRA assessment for the 457 ? We have just been offered a 457 in NSW we already have a 176 PR in since may so had the done the TRA. So the plan is as soon as the 457 is granted to do the wiring regs course in peer south Australia, reapply to TRA for ARTC and get the A grade licence and trans fare it to a NSW one well that's the plan anyway. I think that's the easiest and fastest way to obtain the licence. Were in Ireland are you from ? we're in Dublin, soon to be in coffs harbour can't wait. Maria.
7. Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone can answer this one. My oh has been offered employer sponsorship in coffs harbour just wondering what kind of wages he should expect to be offered. Also the company want him to so a solar power installation and design ticket. Does anyone know were this can be done i can't seem to find it on the tafe web site. Thanks.
8. Hi guys i wonder if anyone can offer some advice, my OH is an electrician in Ireland we have applied for a 176 family sponsored visa and are waiting on SA sponsorship. He did the TRA for immigration purposes. Am i right in thinking that he has to obtain an ARTC first ? is this similar to TRA for immigration. Then do the wiring regs course in peer ? Then get the licence ? Can he then work as an A grade sparks straight away or does he have to work on a restricted licence?( hope not he's highly qualified ) Sorry for all the questions its all very confusing.:goofy: Thanks in advance. Maria.
9. Its the State migration plan, its a list from each state of their occupations in demand, if your on whatever state list you are applying to you will get priority 2 processing. None of the lists are out yet they should be published soon so fingers crossed.
