Hi guys,
It's been a long while since I was last on here.
My husband who is a sparky by trade and was an Electricial Project Manager when we had our first visa assessment, which unfortunately came back negative as he was not working on the tools and because he did not have a degree as a PM, we we gave up with the idea of applying for a visa under one of those occupations.
Well for the last 3 years he has been working as a Fire Alarm/Protection Installation Manager for a major company in the North East. He has gained several extra qualifications (not degree level) and also now has his SMSTS qualification (Site Manager Safety certificate).
I was thinking things over the other day and after talking to hubby we still want our dream as more and more of our family and friends are also going over to Oz. I speak to all of them quite regularly and they keep telling us to go for it, best thing they ever did and so now we are going to try and look into going over with his now new career. I am also a Sales Office Manager and was thinking that might help us.
I was hoping that you guys could give me some good sound advice and whether or not with his occupation we would stand a chance of getting a visa. He is 45 this month and I am now 48 (yeah yeah my toyboy lol) but have heard that the age limit has been lifted to 49/50.
I think we would be looking at possible a 457 sponsored visa.............PLEASE HELP GUYS.
