  1. Funny though isn't it Paul, there are 2 other families in our village that have returned one from Sydney and another from Melbourne, and I my friends cousin has just returned after a year in Perth. The reason we went to Toowoomba was because all my husband's famly is there, which is the reason we moved there in the first place. Our return to the UK was purely out of missing the place-
  2. Ooh yes...miss it loads. (there are people I miss though)
  3. Bloody hell don't come back here, the car parking machines go on the blink....Bloody UK!
  4. I quite like being classed as level headed occasionally, as long as I'm not expected to give a 'balanced view' to not put people off....lol
  5. I couldn't believe ti when they said on the radio that it's been going 25 years....! and in 2011 they raised 1.8 million. Incredible.
  6. Didn't know I ever mentioned WDU....or attempted to tell you why you are moving to Oz. Unless you didn't mean me when you said 'they'
  7. Don't worry Baz when you get to Oz parking will be the least of your financial worries-but hey you'll earn more so that'll make you think you're not being ripped off.....oh and petrol is cheaper too....but it wont matter that you have to drive for hours on end to get anywhere cos the sun will be shining wherever you go-so all will be good.
  8. LOl that old chestnut....I guess for some it is, but personally I'd rather be here in the rain tbh - don't feel the need to bang on about it though, wonder why that is..
  9. My point was about the man's comparison between the dodgy machine and the sunshine, not a parking price comparison....lol
  10. Oh Wendee you are funny....I can imagine you jumping up and down like rumplestiltskin:laugh:
  11. We were unhappy so we moved back-it wasn't easy, we had lost a fortune and we had to start again from scratch. We wanted to teach our children that if you are unhappy in life then you have the power to change it even though there will be sacrifices. That was us and everyone is in a different position, I feel sorry for the people who are trapped there through broken relationships or financial constraints.
  12. Had to laugh, I was behind a man today who was trying to work the ticket machine in a car park, he was struggling to get his money in and I said "oh don't these machines play up sometimes?" he replied " I'm from Australia and I don't know how you put up with this sh7t3".......I laughed and said "don't you ever get a dodgy machine in Oz then?"....he looked at me as if I'd slapped him and told me how he'd just spoken to his wife back 'home' (in Oz) and it was 10 O'clock at night and 30 degrees..... lol, when all else fails just keep talking about the sunshine, it made me laugh so much...(he was British BTW).:biglaugh:
  13. Lol....I used to listen to the day before via my computer, wasn't the same but was better than nothing. Love Radio 2 and the BBC in general tbh
  14. Unless it appears as though she is trying to take the child out of the Uk wthout the fathers consent. (I'm not saying she is BTW)
  15. It should be straightforward for deedpoll, she will have to prove he is in prison though and has limited or no ontact with his daugter.
  16. Absolutely, the passport ofice shouldn't have issued the new passport without the deed poll tbh.
  17. A deed poll would be fine, they are pretty easy to obtain
  18. Of course the child isn't married, but to 'not mention the other passport' wont work. The passport office are now very wary about name changes for children, as long as all persons with parental responsibility agree than the name can be changed back, it is far easier to have the same name as what is on your birth cert unless you have a deed poll.
  19. If a passport has been issued in a different name then the passport office will not issue one in the birth name without consent by all people who have parental responsibility. They will have the 'new name' on record and will hold all the documentation that was used to 'change' the child's name- applying for a passport in birth name will flag all this up.
  20. To be honest we found it depends on the shippers...we got rid of all our whicker and rattan stuff and we needn't have, some friends of ours took all their's.
  21. I would buy one and take it with you, we bought a few things before we went you wont have anywhere near the choice of places to buy things.
  22. Why did you 'have' to stay in though...surely if it's dry you can go out Our Oz family used to think we were mad if we went outside below 25 degrees as they said it was 'freezing' then over 30 degrees they said 'oh you can't go out in that sun' .....bonkers IMO
