I have them next door so I have of course seen them recently like er...today, they live a matter of feet and inches away from me and I dont care how many are in uk, i dont live there, i dont give a t*ss about driving stats btw here and uk, I live in oz not uk and there are abysmal drivers in oz
  2. I know what you mean, but to have them nxt door is something else
  3. We have new neighbours, large 4x4, 2 feral kids running in house what sounds like 100mph both with mullets, both left alone for a couple of hours each day no older that 10yrs old throwing their rubbish over into our garden, large dog left alone all day barking and howling, ( too scared to peer over fence to see what breed but BIG) both parents with mullets language true blue aussie, then the gran appeared, 65-70yrs old with blonde top of hair and mullet a light natural grey with fag butt on bottom lip and language to match. already viewed 3 houses as we are off somewhere peaceful
  4. Anyone here arrived and bought a franchise? like to hear the good and bad experiences if any
  5. even the aussies admit they are terrible drivers, advanced instructor from ireland i know was dismayed at the quality of driving instruction here (perth) they a truly bad and dangerous, I,m sure they think indicators are just an adornment and dont use them, if I do they just ignore them lol. driving to the southern burbs monday we had 3 near misses ( i look at some of the posts and I swear if someone said the uk gets more rain than oz some would pipe up disagree and defend australia )
  6. classic car parts cheaper from the usa. turning switch from sydney = $380 ish I told. from florida inc postage $63.
  7. Its not true either, and the Hoff only been in Oz for a holiday and not lived here at all yet, lots of advice though!!. loving the hoff avatars!.
  8. 'If your'e going through hell,' 'Keep going' great to see the huge support and helpful replies, I'm sure reading them helps all of us too.

  10. I think a visit to the uk will more good that GP here, may reinforce reasons for leaving, or just ease the stress
  11. Dont close the door behind you when you leave as such. get to the uk, see what its about and take each day as it comes, hopefully if your wife sees all is well and you get work back in London she and kids may follow, or even after a while you may find reasons to get back here to Oz, hope all goes well, sometimes 1 step back to get 3 forward.
  12. still in the UK then, I see. typical
  13. I have my dream car here in Perth a rhd pontiac, used to love doing the classic cars up in uk back to my hobby here, amazing how easy parts are to obtain ( cheaper to get from usa than aus ) anyhow all is done and love cruising the coast in it but have considered a full respray until I got some quotes ie 20- 40k  at the moment its cheaper to send to uk get sprayed and ship it back. anyone northern burbs in Perth recommend paintsprayers.
  14. I have a VW Caddy van for sale, immaculate condition 1.6 petrol in white with side door with window, glass tinted, cd player, air con, etc. looks and drives like new. I paid 14k for this in Jan to set up a franchise which never materialised. will sell 11950. even the engine bay spotless, a dream drive. in brilliant unmarked white.
  15. each to their own opinion, and no i didnt need a ladder, when was the last time you stood on portsdown hill, look at the thread heading. and then comment. baffins pond been developed, I love both places, no need for me to decide where or how long I want to be somewhere or justify it. at the moment I like perth, lived here seen it done it over last 12 years. I may just decide in a couple of years to go back to where my home is. the choice is mine. live your dream
  16. Portsmouth, my home town. Stand on the hill overlooking portsmouth and the seafront, to the left the rolling southdowns, to the right the sea and toward the new forest, forward over the city to the solent and the isle of wight, turn round behind me and the countryside rolls into the distance. 90 mins from london, 90min flight to spain ferry to the continent france etc. the city has its problems and so does the football club but I know I have absolutely heaps of family and friends down there. my house is still there opposite the large pond and 500 yards from the sea some may knock it, but its home and always will be no matter where I live in the world. Off to watch Perth Glory now.

  19. A lot of us here in Oz have PR based on our skills gained in UK, The UK been kind to me because I made the effort gave me the base to get to Oz and make things happen rather than wait for them to happen. Love the UK. its always home to me. Proud to be british, grateful to Oz for giving me the opportunity to enhance life.
  20. Its unfortunate but nice people dont get on in the world most biz men women i know who are successful are pretty ruthless and no scruples and made their money, had no qualms about treading on peoples faces on the way up and dont worry about falling down til it happens
