Hi I would say Bunnings is the best for tools as they stock a wide range of tools to suit all pockets from the diy grade like trojan up to marshall town trowels etc.As for jobs there is the daily news paper or http://www.gumtree.com.au or http://www.seek.com and its always worth driving around the various building sites etc and asking because the best jobs don't always get advertised.

100 years ago they would have welcomed you here with that little record.
