I dont know why you say most people! No one I knew when I lived in Melbourne got their whole shopping there. Maybe the odd thing, and it was good for their non food specials but I definately wouldnt do my full shopping there. It is like a Smart Price range in the other supermarkets. Not really surprising! Some people spend spend spend without giving a thought to saving any incase of being paid off etc. Some people just want everything now! My OH works contract here and we always make sure there is enough away in the bank to live on for the weeks inbetween contracts.

As already advised Coles sells ibuprofen for $1.99. You must be looking at Nurofen brand. You get their own which has exactly the same in it for half the price, just as you get Asda own make for cheaper than Brand names. Also if you still have stuff left from 2 moves ago its a bit of a false economy to buy stuff just for the sake of it if your not going to use it before it goes off!

Are you serious? It will cost you a hell of a lot more to go back home! Even just for one flight! You had 2 years to get a visa for your son and you would not have had to go to NZ and get an RRV.

You may get something back depends on what you can claim for in your tax return but unfortunately high wages = high tax! I dont know how you stand on your visa but if you earn over $88,000 as a single person and dont have private health care you get hit with a medicare levy surcharge at tax time.

Britax is under the name Safe and Sound here, same seats but you still need to buy the Australian one.

But if you are on a holiday visa you can only work there for 6 months so you wont be there for the full year to pay that amount of tax.

A 457 is not a holiday visa and why would you get your tax back?

How do you have an ABN if you are on a 457? I thought you had to work solely for the company that sponsored you?
