Guest JoeBloggs80
My australian g/f is getting friends and family back home to complete some form 888 statutory declarations. My question is - can the person who witnesses the stat dec (for example a JP or a solicitor) also be the same person who certifies the copy of their passport/birth certificate. Thanks to anyone who can help!
Smirfyduo
Hi JoeBloggs, I did a stat dec & had docs certified - and all by the same solicitor. Cheers  Jules
Guest JoeBloggs80
Nice one - thanks! And should they expect to pay anything to have it witnessed/certified? I've read some solicitors charge but it shouldn't be more than 5 - 10 dollars right?
melbournegirlinny
There is no problem with them witnessing all the documents. It is up to the lawyer as to what they charge I think.
Smirfyduo
Mine charged about £5 for the stat dec and £3 each for the doc certification. Don't think there is set fee - I phoned a couple of places in the UK and asked how much they charged before I decided where to go.
