It certainly is.

We have been accepted for a 489 and are just awaiting our security and health checks. Today we have been to the travel agents for accomindation places, but they have nothing in the Palmerston area, there more the top hotels, motels and apartments on there systems as people go for holidays. The question we have is there any holiday homes places either hotels, appartments motels or holiday homes within this area (Palmerston). As this will be the area we will be looking to move to. One more ore thing also double checked flights with the holiday shops and Internet prices. Just also wondered if any one knows of any where else to check ?

Hello ive just been looking for web sites in NT to contact about renting properties for when we move. But finding it hard to find any to contact, but have made contact with elders real estate. So I'm awaiting there reply. Has any one else got any links that would help me? plus whilst googling I came across the government site about national rental affordability scheme. My question is would I be entitled to this when moving over on a 489 visa? Or is this going to be something for a later time? cheers

Hi i sat my IELTS general test a few weeks ago. This is the first time for me. My results arrived today. L 5.5 R 6 W6.5 S 9 Overall band score 7 i did better in some areas than expected, I've now booked in again for another test. But would be grateful if there is any help and advice out there for me. As I understand it I need a7 in all test and not the over all which is a shame.

Hi I'm also a prison officer I have already emailed a prison in Oz who replied quick n said as soon a my visa is sorted then I'd be able to apply. As there not looking to recruit overseas at present, they also told me that I should inform them of all the skills I've gained and mention it during recuirtment as there would be a chance of more pay. Its a shame the current cut backs are coming in as I've lost my role in OMU due to this. I'm sure with the years of service I've got in 10 years and some of the skills (MOE, Tornado, trainer, trained video recorder. Etc) I would have thought I'd be snapped up

I got to look at the skilled list there is only ACT wanting prison officers, I have also been in touch with them. They have told me they aren't doing any overseas recruiting at present but told me to get my visa and then apply with them. Making sure I inform them of my current roll and skills this would enable me to have more pay. I've just sent my vet asses of, but still waiting to take my IELTS test.
