tomabbie
Hi hope someone can help. Have applied for my 457 and need to health insurance in place to cover me as part of the DIAC requirements. The online quotes are very expensive, does anyone know if DIAC would accept a worldwide travel insurance policy (eg. holiday insurance) instead? I know when we get there there is a reciprocal agreement in place with medicare. Sorry if this has been answered before. Kirstie
Guest JamesandSandy
hi, i think there are minimum health insurance requirements that the diac accept as adequate. i didnt want to risk it and went for IMAN healthcare which specialises in visa pre requisites. hope this helps a little. sandy

nicolaj
We did ours with BUPA, you have to pay the month's premium upfront and you wont have to make any further payments until the policy actually starts, but this gives you the cover letter which will satisfy the needs of the Visa. Then when you are actually here you can then cancel the policy, but check out for any cancellation clauses. Also bear in mind in NSW you have to have ambulance cover. This isn't covered by Medicare.
