TheGrahams
Can anyone tell me if there is an equivalent of a healthcare assistant in Aus hospitals. Here, our hospitals rely on the healthcare assistants, as the registered nurses, midwives etc workloads are so high. I was planning on doing this when my children start school, but as it now happens that will be in Aus, so do they have them, if so what are they called? ali
The hospital I work at has PCA's (patient care assistant), but they're not like they were in the UK - here they will take people to x-ray etc., give out meals, make beds, clean etc.
TheGrahams
Thanks guys, that was just the info I was looking for. Seems you need to have a qualification over there for it. It was only to give me some hospital experience before commencing a nursing/midwifery degree. Looks like its back to my old caring jobs before uni then!
