OH went to the bank a few months after we arrived to discuss a different matter but asked about mortgages while he was there. He was told the bank would be prepared to offer him a mortgage based on the wages he was earning. We are still renting but only until we see the right house. Good luck with the house hunting. Chardy Posted January 29, 2012 Share Posted January 29, 2012 Some have said the banks like to see 6 months of wages before they will offer a mortgage but it depends on the lender and your own situation I guess.
