Hi all.

Please can anyone give me an up-to-date account (roughly) of monthly expenses for a family of 5 moving to Brisbane. I have looked on lots of other threads but theres not much up-to-date.

Things such as ...

household bills

medical expenses

food bills

car expenses

internet/phone/sky etc etc.

Just would like to get a rough idea please.

Thanks, Mandy:wink:

Hi ya,

we live about an hour south of brisbane. I can give you a run down of what we pay.

Rent - for a 4 bed place $400 upwards a week (depending on where you want to be, what sort of place you want)

Food for us (including nappies/formula & alcohol!) $250 per week

Car insurance $50 a month

Medical insurance (just looking into this now) $130 per month (no extras, just hospital cover)

Mobile phone for me & my husband - $76 per month (he's on contract, i'm pay as you go)

Home phone & internet - $109 per month

Elelctric - we have yet to have a bill, but i pay $98 per month and then will pay any more after first quarter.

We will pay for water here, but haven't had a bill yet so don't know how much it will be.

Contents insurance - i still need to sort but our stuff isn't here from the uk yet!

Hope this helps?
