Guest Tom the Pom
How much are costs when it comes to buying in Oz? Do they have stuff like stamp duty or any other hidden charges?? Is it cheaper to buy land than houses??? Do costs vary from state to state???? Thanks in advance!

Life on easy street
Western Australia Unfortunately housing cost have gone up in Perth 30 % Last year !!! Housing E.g. within view of the beach north of Quiins beach A 1000 msq plot of land cost approx 150k 5 years ago To purchase 650 msq 450k today. House prices have doubled. If you move inland out of view of the beach then prices drop to 250k for 650 msq You have then got to pay for the house 150k to 250 k Depending on specification and developer As a first time buyer in Australia you get small grant cannot recall the ammount and it may limited to a certain value house At these prices i personally would not buy a plot of land
