Trade Licence: Any Instrument Techs emigrating to Melbourne?

Hello All,

 

I'm interested to know if there are any Instrument Techs' emigrating to Melbourne / Victoria. I'm going out myself around July 06 and wondered if anybody knows about the trade licences needed and if they are a must before a job can be offered? I believe at the moment each state has their own trade licences, but a push is being made to nationalise the system.

 

Any info regards how and where to apply for these licences would be great.
