chrishardy
Hi everyone, I am new to this after joining today after i spoke to one of my colleagues at work who's husband is a frequent user. Me and my finace met in Australia 2 years ago whilst both on Working Holiday Visa's. Now after 2 years back in old Blighty we want to make the move back down under and would love to hear from anyone who has any tips and advice. I am 23 year old trade qualified plumber and heating engineer and my fiance is a 22 year old trade qualified Hairdresser. Looking forward to hearing from everyone and reading your replies Thanks
Orlando
Hi, chrishardy! First, I would advise you go through the official site of Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship: http://www.immi.gov.au/ and find a visa that most suits your purposes. If you intend to move down under for good, you may consider 175 Skilled Independent visa. Your occupation is currently in the Skilled Occupation List, so you are eligible to apply. You can find current SOL here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/solfact-sheet.pdf Prior to applying for a visa, you need to have your qualifications assessed by an assessing authority. I think, for trade qualifications it's TRA: http://www.deewr.gov.au/Skills/Programs/SkillsAssess/TRA/Pages/default.aspx Unfortunately, your wife's occupation was removed from SOL last year, so it's you who'll have to be the primary applicant. Immigration requirements and legislation keep changing every year, so if you want to get professional advice on your situation, the best way is to ask a migration agent. Hope the links I gave you will help a little to make the whole migration process a little bit more clear) Good luck!!!
