Guest colsha7
Hi, Has anyone passed their medicals where they have a kidney disease and due to this have a reduced kidney function. hubby(43) has PKD and his eGFR (blood test for kidney function) is 61 ml/min/1.73m2 down from 67 ml/min/1.73m2 in Nov2007. All double dutch to me but I believe it means he is in stage 2 chronic kidney disease, but only just....stage 2 60-90. I have looked at a lot of things on the internet and if it continues to fall at this rate it could mean that in about 20/30 years he could be in stage 4/5 and could poss. need dialysis or transplant... any info anyone has would be very much appreciated. Don't wont to go to such expense if the chances of passing are so low.....We have 5 kids to consider. Thanks. Sharon.xxxx
calNgary
Hi Sharon No one can really say for sure how it would go,, not even an agent. To reassure you a little plenty of people with pretty serious medical conditions have succesfully gained a visa. I have Liver Disease that will probably require a transplant in the future, when i went for my medical i took a letter from my Specialist that stated where my condition was at, when procedures i had under gone and what medication i take. This letter was submitted with my medical report. About 2 weeks later i was asked to go and see a Panel Specialist who basically did what my own specialist had done, and wrote a report on my condition. Another week later and we recieved the visa grant. Lots and lots of luck, and i hope everything will go ok for you. Cal x

Cal x Hi guys, i done my Meds last week and contacted the centre today as to my results regarding my X-ray, Blood and Urine tests, all were fine and my Physical too on the day. But my Blood Pressure was very high on the day and i have to go to my GP to see what's going on with it. Im hoping i wont be refused a visa if i need to take pills to control it???? I am a bit of an anxious person and hope it was just jitters on the day. Has anyone had this problem??? and if so what was the outcome. Any info would be great cheers

Guest colsha7
Thanks everyone. We are going to look at everything and decide if we should still try....we are really upset that this could stop us going...colin has never had a sick day in the past 5 years....he has asked his nephrologist about a letter,he said we can only get one from our GP and he will write that he is under a nephrologist and state all examinations that have been done and the results of these. Just have to wait and see, heres hoping.xx sharon.xx

Deefjay
I’m waiting for the results of my medical. I only have one functioning kidney and although I’m not on any meds or under a nephrologist I’m still expecting the worst. My kidney doesn’t function as well as two but I’m not suffering with CKD. Fingers crossed I’ll get my PR
