Hi all

I've had recent foot surgery - (bunion and Weil osteotomy) and due to have meds in a couple of weeks. I have a discharge letter from the hospital after the op as I was a day case.

Does anyone have any idea what info I need to take with me when I have my medical? I have my 6 wk check up at with the surgeon on Thursday - should I ask them for a copy of everything or will the letter with the date of surgery and the surgery discharge letter do? I've notice others in here saying they had to get case notes...

Thank you for your advice

Hi Perth, It might be worth getting your specialist to write something down to take with you. I had to give a copy of the letters I'd received from my specialist following the two colonoscopys I've had. The dr at the medical said my condition probably wasn't a problem but she felt there a maybe a chance that the DIAC would ask for them. I'm guessing that you won't have received a formal letter about the outcome of your procedure by then so maybe how the surgeon feels it went? Perhaps call the hospital where your having you meds done and see if they can advise. I hope it all goes well at your check up

Thanks hev. I called birmigham and the woman said just bring whatever letters you have so that's one to say date of op, my signed consent forms, surgery discharge and follow-up about having stitches out / 6 wk follow up letter. I'll call the hospital (where i'm going for my check up) and ask if they can sort something out.... Problem is my appointment is @ 4pm they always run late so I bet I don't get in till nearly 5pm and that will be the last thing they'll want to do!! Fingers crossed they can help me out tomorrow.

Right better check DIAC for progress and off to bed... Night night xx
