mapster
We are hoping to get a 176 visa just going through an agent now so really early days. BUT we have 2 children aged 9 + 13 are there any good schools in Greenwood Padbury areas and how easy/hard is it to get a place for our kids? Our children are at junior school + senior school here in the UK so think we need 2 differant schools?
Guest JK2510
I know Padbury high school is closing and Belridge highschool will be one of the school accepting those students. Im not too sure about primary schools in that area but one thing i do know is that if you live in the catchment area of a particular school they have to take you. My girls are starting Edgewater primary tomorrow morning and the eldest is going to Belridge as Woodvale wouldnt take her as their criteria is quite high. mapster
Ok thanks for that still early days for us only just told agent to go ahead with our application. Trying to make sure I know what is avaiable for the kids tho as schools will be a huge concern as well as finding jobs. We were in Greenwood in Dec 2010 staying with family and went to Padbury to visit more family and thought they were good areas to base ourselfs :chatterbox:unless anyone thinks differant?:jiggy:
Guest emski
Hi, from what I've heard Greenwood has a good primary school, can't remember which one though. Have a look at this website Find a school | ACARA, they haven't put on the 2010 results yet but it should still give you a good indication of the school. Good luck with your application! Guest Thomo
I have friends who have taught at Woodvale High and others who's children have gone to this school. They all rate it highly and the kids seem happy and well adjusted and have achieved well. Woodvale is a bit further north than Greenwood.
realitynotincluded
Hi Mapster We live in Greenwood... they have recently opened a brand new primary school called Allenswood... alot of money has been put into this school. You also have east greenwood primary... West Greenwood primary which is attached to Greenwood senior school. so both your children would be close and the transition for your 9 yr old will be really smooth. greenwood senior school is one of the few schools that have aviation as a specialist subject. most high schools run an extended program if you have a child that is excelling in class. Woodvale only take in their area and choose very few from outside the catchment. anything else you want to know about greenwood give me a shout. Do u have a boy and girl or two girls... or two boys..?
mapster
We have girl aged 9 a real bright spark and a boy aged 13 who is average level at school. Here in the Uk they both go to realy good schools that are hard to get into. Want them to get a good education in OZ!! and be happy...............................
