Here is a very sensible statement from the Australian Industry Group on the new points test to be introduced next July 1. It describes the great shortage of trades people in Australia and how the new points test will make migration harder for them. They also comment on the negative aspects of the decision by DIAC to award zero points for getting a 6 on the IELTS which, after all, is a fluent English standard.
