paulswin
We've just been told we need to do an IELTS test before state sponsorship can go through. Another change for tradies apparently! Has anyone else been told this??
Guest NeilanGemz
Hiya Matey I'm a sparky and was going the 175 route instead of state sponsorship, completed the whole visa app online, when I got to the end I was 10 points short!! now I've got to take the IELT test to get the extra points!! yet another goal post that has been moved. Nothing surprises me with this visa lark any more. Apparently if you are english and have a little knowledge about english language you'll do it in your sleep. Haven't took mine yet tho so don't hold me to that. I know there are loads of test centres (mainly Uni's) up and down the country, got mine shorted for 20th Nov. You can get more details from here IELTS | Search Results Neil
Peach
There's another thread on the same subject: http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/97686-ielts-compulsory.html So looks like the rumours could be true!
paulswin
Its what our agent told us but it seems pointless going for it now until we know whether floor finisher will be on SMP list otherwise more money down the drain
taniaholmes
I think i read this somewhere on IELTs for trades but i think you only have to score 5 in all 4 sections Tania
