ali Posted June 22, 2007 Share Posted June 22, 2007 You can apply for medicare when you've been in Aus 10 working days - don't go before (as we found out) as you won't be in the system. You'll need copies of your passport as they make a copy of your visa. Ali I tried this last week and my partner was issued with a temporary number 25 hours after we had touched down. ali Posted June 23, 2007 Share Posted June 23, 2007 We went to the medicare office a few days after arriving but she just gave us the forms and said that we wouldn't be on the system for 10 working days and we had to go back to get our medicare number.
