Parley Posted June 8, 2010 Share Posted June 8, 2010 Hello, I have just applied for 1st UK Passport. Should be fairly straightforward as I was born in UK in 1964. I moved to Aus in 1978 and am Australian Citizen with Australian Passport. Anyway it is coming up to 4 weeks since I put my application in. Has anyone done one recently, and how long did it take ? Jo_uktooz Posted June 8, 2010 Share Posted June 8, 2010 If it doesn't turn up after 6 weeks or so and you are worried you can always call the information line but be aware that it costs about $3.00 a minute or something and you may have to wait for 10-20 mins to get through. Guest vidal1974 Posted June 8, 2010 Share Posted June 8, 2010 I have recently recieved my daughters 1st British passport and it took 12 weeks even though it should have been straight forward. (she was born in the UK in 2008 and I am British) Apparently it was 'stuck' in the system. I called the passport office in Canberra and they put me in touch with the New Zealand processing centre, but the number should be somewhere on the passports website I would imagine, just give them a call to set your mind at rest.
