I lived in Melbourne 10 years ago for 15 months but sadly had to return to the U.K.We are just in the process of getting visas for my partner Gary and my son William my daughter Jaime-Leigh was born in Australia and i have residency. We only exchanged contracts yesterday and have so much to do. Dogs leave on 7th Australia for their long journey and we complete on our house on the 13th August and then we are off! The paper can be found via Guide to Emigrating Abroad, Advice & Information on Overseas Emigration. Having not seen it previously, I only went for the three month subscription to get a taster but there are various options on there and it arrived fairly quickly after subscription too. Guest Ess Posted July 13, 2007 Share Posted July 13, 2007 Hi Lesley Am planning on getting to Melbourne too, my oh is an Aussie and lives there and we (son, age 3 and myself) are joining him when we can, but it is always good to have the opinion of a fellow Essex lass!!! I've been over twice now and seen various parts of the City and short term, I am not sure where we will be, but in the long term, we are thinking of living in the Dandenong Ranges, any thoughts? We are renting in Mornington at the mo' and having a house built in Mt Martha. This area had the right balance for us, as we have older boys, 20 & 19 as well as Charlie who is 8 1/2. (20 yo is in the Uk) There is plenty of night life for the boys as well as a good TAFE in Frankston nearby. There are also plenty of good schools for Charlie. We did not realise we had missed one last weekend, the days and weeks are flying by and we lost track of dates. We are due to fly out in 4 weeks to the sunshine coast and would like to attend one of these meets before we go. If you do have a meet can you please let us know. At what time have you told your kids??? ours are 13, and twins of 10, thought we get the ball rolling quite away before telling them, just in case we don't get there, it's bad enough on a car journey are we there yet!!!!!
