Guest Is Venison Dear?
In March, I received a (ludicrous) 12 month ban and test resit after a crash - 'Dangerous Driving'. Unbelievable but that's life. This ,we felt, might hold up our move as I would have to sit the UK retest again in March 08. Then we got thinking. (a) Would I be banned in Oz if I were to sit an Oz test? (b) Would I have to wait un tim March 08 to sit an Oz test? © Would I be able to drive on my Oz licence in the UK after March 08? Any lawyers out there?
calNgary
Hiya im far from a lawyer but,, seeing has you have to produce your uk licence for a swap to an aussie one ,i doubt youd get away with driving here whilst still banned in the uk.With the links the uk and oz have ,i would imagine (but havnt a clue) that you can drive in the uk on an Oz licence as you can drive here on a uk one for a limited time.If you have to sit the extended test to get your licence back you may be better looking into doing it here ,,try emailing queensland transport ,or which ever area your interested in ,,queensland is www.transport.qld.gov.au ,,good luck Cal x

ali
In WA too, you have to show your licence to swop them over, the application also asks if you've every been banned from driving etc., Ali
