Guest alibo80
Hi could anyone offer me any advise. My parner is a executive sous chef, he was worked as a chef for over 10 years starting at the bottom working his way up the ladder and has worked hard to get to the position he is in. He has refrances from all his employers that he has worked for over the years, giving dates and positions. We are currently in australia and he is a dependant on my temperary visa. my visa is valid for 4 years. we carnt apply for pr on my qualifications as my job is not on the list of occupations anymore. We would like to apply for pr on his qualifications. as his occupation is in demand. The problem is that he has no formal training certifacates as all his traing was on the job. and on the skill assesment form it is asking for formal training certifacates. on one visa web site it says to prove 9 years work experiance. please if any body can advise i would be grateful thanks
Guest Gollywobbler
Hi Alibo80 It sounds as if your OH may be eligible for assessment for an AQF III or a Diploma based on Recognition of Prior Learning and a practical assessment of his abilities. Culinary Solutions, based in VIC, are able to arrange this: Culinary Solutions Australia - Assessment Information So are Chef Central, based in Queensland: Chef Central Australia | Contact Us Australian Trade Assessments - Building a Pathway to Australia ATA are based in the UK but they would not be able to do what they do without the Hospitality Association Inc, also in QLD. Hospitality Training Association Inc Whereabouts in Oz are you, please? There may be similar companies in other States. Cheers Gill

Guest Gollywobbler
HI Alibo It is possible to study Commercial Cookery at the Bentley campus of the TAFE. From the syllabus it doesn't look as if they simply to AQF III assessments but they might. It may be worth asking them because if they don't do them but know someone in Perth who does, it is no skin off their nose to suggest who to contact instead: Education and Training International WA | Home The Small Business Development Corporation might be able to help with this too. State Migration Centre Hopefully it will be possible to avoid sending OH to the other side of Oz! Cheers Gill
