Guest proud2beaussie
sorry if this is a silly question but how often / easily can you come and go to UK on a Permn Visa - could you go to Oz for 2 - 4 years, then go back to UK for year or two then come back again to live in Oz??? Basically to have a Return Resident Visa granted you need to have been physically present in Australia for 2 out of the previous 5 years.a RRV is valid for 5 years so theretically you could spend 3 out f every 5 years in the UK and still be allowed to re-enter Australia. Although to be honest I can't really see why anyone would go to the expense of getting a PR visa only to spend the majority of the time overseas. http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/residents/155/
ali
After 5 years you are required to gain a resident return visa which lasts for 5 years - to obtain this you have to have lived in Aus for 2 of the previous 5 years as a PR. Five Year Resident Return Visa (Subclass 155) If you have lived in Aus as a PR for less than 2 years, then the RRV is for 3 months
