Guest parker Posted May 27, 2009 Share Posted May 27, 2009 Hi guys, I am an English girl who emigrated just under 2 years ago to Adelaide, I am just about to give birth to our first child in fact due today. I have discovered that without family it is pretty dam hard and only going to get harder once the baby arrives. If anyone is in the same boat, has small children, expecting etc thought I would try and get some sort of group going, no idea how but have my thinking cap on.... We have a 5 year old girl and a 5 month old baby girl. I can imagine it being quite hard...we're used to help from my mum here so it's going to be tough but the eldest will be going to school when we arrive so might help a little bit. We're staying at my mum's until october! it's quite squishy, she has a small 2 bed flat so me, mark & poppy are in 1 room and Lexie & my mum are in the other. We arrive on the 29th Oct so probably around the same time as you...we've applied for SA OAA so not sure where we'll be plonked but it's just going to be temp accomodation until we find somewhere we want to live. I have just joined the web site . we arrived in adelaide on the16th of september and I am getting home sick already. so I thought this would be a great way to meet some friends around here. I have three children two boys 7 and 3 and a 5 year old girl who are feeling a little lost too. We are moving into Taperoo just on the peninsula, not far from where you all are . We'll be staying in semaphore for our first 4 nights (long story!) and then moving down to Brighton for a further 6 weeks until we get somewhere more permanent. We'll be checking emails and stuff from an internet cafe place for a while but hopefully every second day so will be in touch once we arrive.
