Guest Jhonnywalker
Hello, When you mean Non-CSL, do you mean you are on MODL or SOL? If your trade/occupation is on MODL but not on CSL, then there is nothing much that can be done, apart from getting yourself re-assessed for the occupation in CSL, by your relevant assessing authority... Good Luck! JW
Guest bentkitty
Hi Can anyone have any idea how to change visa application from 175(Non CSL) to 175 (CSL). Thanks What's your occupation and is it on CSL? If it is you will automatically be priority processed as CSL applicant. If you mean your original application was in a non CSL profession (e.g. Finance Manager) but there is a closely related occupation on the CSL (e.g. Accountant) that you may qualify for then you would need a new skills assessment. Guest Scamp1976
Hm... well that's not really how it works. CSL just means that the job you have is on the CSL. So maybe another main applicant who is in the CSL ( your wife ? ) could solve your issue. Or you can try to assess as a CSL but this is not you who decide but the assessor
dan77
Hi Thanks for the reply, I am an accountant and have received positive skills assessment. But accountant to be on CSL needs to have band of 7 in all 4 modules of IELTS. Right now i dont have 7 band in all 4 modules (6.5 in speaking). I am applying for 175(MODL, Non CSL). My question is, if later i get 7 band in all 4 modules then how to convert to 175(CSL). Thanks What's your occupation and is it on CSL? Guest The "legdes"
Hi If you get reassessed by TRA (for example) do you have to restart your app ? We lodged last July and have gone a long way down the road with meds met etc. so lodging again isn't a very attractive prospect. My husband if a fully qualified mechanical engineer (HND level and full apprenticeship)but we asked TRA to assess him as a Toolmaker. To be a toolmaker you have to be able to be able to do all the things a mechanical engineer does - its just a specialism. However, if we'd asked to be asssessed as a mechanical engineer he would no doubt have got it and we'd still be on CSL. Any one know about changing your nominated occupation or have done it ? Thanks I would have thought when you resit your exam and get an IELTS score higher than 7 in each then you just upload your new test results and inform DIAC by email that you are an accountant with scores > 7 therefore can they process you as CSL (this is what my agent did and it worked. I have been assigned my CO). I wouldnt have thought you need to do anything else or resubmit your application but you should try calling the DIAC to confirm this. Hi Dan bentkitty is right about how to hurry your sc 175 application along. However have you considered State Sponsorship as an additional "insurance policy" in case you don't get a high enough score when you retake the IELTS? Accountant is on the WA List for the 176 visa, for example, regardless of whether the Accountant would make it onto the CSL. http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/media/documents/WAOIDL_JANUARY_2009.pdf The link to all the State/Territory websites is here: State & Territory Migration Sites - australia.gov.au Best wishes Gill
dan77
Hi Gilli, Thanks for reply. As u mentioned I after submitting 175 application, I am also planning to apply for SA sponsorship. I just want to have knowledge about all the options so that later best option can be excercised. I just want to have one more shot at IELTS and if successful then convert to CSL. In your opinion which is better - 176 (SA Sponsorship) or 175(CSL) Regards Hi Dan bentkitty is right about how to hurry your sc 175 application along. The advantage of 175 is that it does not tie you to SA for two years, and if you really hate it there you can move elsewhere in Oz any time you like. Other than that v little difference as I understand - both are permanent residence visas. We considered 176 SS at the time as we wanted to go to Adelaide and not Sydney, but our agent encouraged us to apply for 175 instead as we had enough points and it gives you full flexibility re: where you want to live. Hope this helps you should keep us posted on your progress as fellow accountants headed for adelaide
